Use a lot of Quick Saves & Re-loads to get more desirable spins on the wheel. Don't forget you need to get drunk too. The more clothes & more drunk each of you get drives the heat factor.

It's not getting enough wins that's the problem. After a certain point she will just keep choosing to drink rather than strip, even if she's three sheets to the wind already. Do they just not go all the way to naked? Have I been "winning" this whole time thinking I was screwing it up?

Not sure what part of the game you're referring to, but you cannot gain access to the underground lab until after 45 days on the island. Then jog on the beach. You'll trip over a coconut and Miriam will do the rest.

MC goes jogging on the beach, hurts his ankle and is then taken to the lab by Miriam to meet Daniela for treatment. After his treatment he is allowed to resume his normal activities on the island. But this is all supposed to be happen after you get the quest for the lab.

If you listen to the rumor, have the quest added to your log and then go jogging on the beach then everything will happen in the correct order.

If you randomly go jogging there like I've done and get the treatment before grabbing the quest, then the next time you listen to a rumor and discover the quest you'll be stuck with it in your log. Because now there is no way to complete the quest, you've already been there before and you cannot go back or repeat that part of the game.

Actually, you want to LOSE a few times if you're going for high heat. Let her get you down to max stripping (there's an indicator on the screen for x/3 strips each player can do) and then just hope you can max the heat before one of you passes out. You'll want to use quick saves to save scum until you get a hard question (those raise the heat more). Do that the first few spins and you should be on track for max heat before either of you gets too drunk.

If you're okay with cheating, and want to guarantee a win, do the following:

1. Open the console (Shift+O) and type: g_hotshots.heat = 30 (or 35). This will make it easier to get to Heat=100 (the 'win' condition)
2. Save 1-2 screens before the screen where you actually spin the wheel.
3. Get "Hard Question" on the wheel (if you don't get Hard Question, load your save and spin again until you do get Hard Question (Hard Questions give you the most heat points per round; please see attached hard questions cheat file)
4. Strategic balanced choice - This is where it gets a bit nuanced, but with a little thought and practice, it's pretty easy and straightforward. You wiil want to ask your opponent to take a drink first, because she will only take off clothes after she has taken a drink the previous time she lost a round of the game. You DON'T want her to decline your request to take off clothes and to instead take a drink, because this will cost heat points instead of adding them. Generally speaking, you want to balance out whether you win a HotShots round or your opponent does (basically alternating), and also balance your level of drunkenness and level of 'undress' versus your opponent's levels of drunkenness and undress so that the game will continue until you reach a heat level of 100+
5. Lather, rinse, and repeat until you've won the HotShots game and get your reward.

That depends on how you deleted it. There are two copies of a save, one in the game tree and one in your Windows user space. If you delete within the game both copies are gone. When you deleted one on the file level the other copy should still exist.

Edit: the copy in the Windows user space is local to the machine. If you put the game on an external disk even when you loose the machine your game with saves are there when you attach the external disk to another machine. Vice versa, if you loose the external disk the saves in the Windows user space should survive.

The change log below is based on the release 0.5.0.0.

As of right now, the update from 0.5.0.0 to 0.5.2.0 has:
192 additional renders, videos or sound files (only includes post worked, finished renders)
1 new backgrounds for the phone
51 updated renders or videos

New features, major improvements and new content

• Yvette's second appointment at the beach at night will be added -> still working on it
• Alice gets a new scene in her room wearing a black retro lingerie you got for her -> still working on it (renders are mostly done)
• Joy gets a new appointment in the night bar where you have a drink with her. The appointment ends upstairs in the pink room, reusing images from after the titfight night -> still working on it (only game integration missing)
• Amy's story with Peter will be concluded in a Hands-On way (scene with Amy in the gym shower)-> will be part of 0.5.2.0
• Daniela gets the Hotshots game scene with a hot ending. Joy will be hosting it. -> will be part of 0.5.2.0
• Yvette's roomservice scene can end with a hot shower scene, partially reusing existing images -> will be part of 0.5.2.0
• Yvette gets a completely remade room service event -> will be part of 0.5.2.0
• Yvette gets a completely remade workout pullups scene -> will be part of 0.5.2.0

Minor improvements and changes (including image upgrades)

• Yvette's event at the MC's door where she asks about a girl that was send home has been upgraded to 2560x1440 webp format and the dialogue has been rewritten -> will be part of 0.5.2.0

Bug fixes

• When Jennifer explains how the clamps on the weight bar works, the image goes black -> will be fixed with version 0.5.2.0
• During Yvette's date at the pool, if you try staring at anything else but her face, the camera zooms to the top left corner of the screen -> will be fixed with version 0.5.2.0

After 10 years of Windows, I finally went back to Linux, and ... Lisa has become mute !?

Without it her creepy dulcet voice, the banter between Yvette and Lisa is not the same.


A quick google search indicated that I needed espeak, which I promptly installed. (espeak-ng, actually, but both seem to be compatible)
And ... it still doesn't work: no voice, no Lisa

I tried another Renpy game, and text-to-speech works flawlesssly there.
It seems to be something specific to Holiday Island.

Did anybody encounter the same problem?

I recommend to read the guide posted on page 1. That contains the long story. In short, play her achievements and her ratings will rise. Do NOT attempt to cheat it, the game will go bonkers on you.

You'll have to do a search of this thread for the location for Mac and/or Android, but on a PC, the saves folder is in the game directory. HolidayIsland-0.5.0.0-pc\game\
They can also be found under C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\Island-1499865023
