After a more then year of not playing the game I came back to it and found that my version (Better Repack 9) of the game is hopelessly outdated. How do I update the game? Just download the new version and install it abowe the the old one?

The best solution is to install the update in a new folder and don't delete your current version until you confirm the new one is working correctly. Once you have verified the new version you can then copy your old User Data folder to the newer version if you want to keep your progress.

To add on to Boogie's explanation, you'll also want to copy over any mods that you downloaded independently that may not be included in the better repack mod list (I've made that mistake once, it was a b*tch to hunt down all my old mods). If you didn't download any mods on your own time, then ignore this piece of advice.

Most of the character cards in my game are missing the preview thumbnail in the character creation screen. Is that normal?
are all mods in mods folder from BetterRepack mandatory? its very large (90+ GB) and from what i see, they are just bunch of costumes and others. i wanna save space but im worried that i might break something

I have a high end PC but get nothing but a black screen when loading up the game, for a few minutes before I turn it off and try again. How long do I have to wait until the game loads?

I usually get up and go do something else whenever I first install a new update, could be gone for 15-20 minutes, so I'm not sure the exact time. I just know it takes my non-gaming laptop awhile, so I just let it go.
