I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out. The solution is to extract the files using a program like 7zip instead of the Windows File Manager.

EDIT: even with this fix, the game won't play BGM and voices. What a buggy mess.

My guess that it has something to do with file-system metadata. Also, the game engine is a closed-source chinese piece of crap that barely works.
