Ren'Py Completed Horny Holiday [v3.3] [Big Chungus Productions]

I'm putting the finishes touches on all the things today and *tomorrow* we'll have the latest, greatest, expansion to Horny Holiday yet: version 3.

We'll have an expanded story, about double the length of the current v2, with over 70 new music + sound effects, almost double the number of images (around 700 more than the v2 current version), and about 15 new animations.

See Jack? He's pumped up because he knows that tomorrow, he'll have a chance to show off his yoga skills, his boxing talent, and maybe even some dance moves.


Get it wherever Big Chungus Productions products are available, like Patreon, Itch, or Steam.

Okay, now back to finishing up all the polish to ensure it goes off with (hopefully!) close to zero bugs. A man can dream, and I fantasize about a launch so good, even if there are bugs, you can't tell they exist.

Whelp, the wait is over. V3 launched *today* on all the platforms.

There are now over 20,000 (twenty thousand) words in the story, and over 1,500 (fifteen hundred) images, another 70+ new music & audio tracks...and a whole new sandbox location in the game.

The story is a timeline update, with the new content fitting into the party after a specific narrative event, and then Jack gets to explore the home gym at the party, along with Joy, after they change into some new attire.

In this gorilla's opinion, it's our best work yet. Ah, and if you're wondering, "How did he get this done while doing so much on Her Heart's Desire, the remake, the last few months?"

Whelp, I'm not the lead on this, it's my partner - I'm just the assistant for this epic creation.

Had a thought while playing. It would be nice to get notification of achievement in game. Something with renpy.notify maybe? It would also be nice for builds not on steam to have a way to see what achievements were unlocked. Maybe a gallery on the main menu with a bonus pinup or picture for each achievement unlocked?

Finally, it would be cool to have a 3.5 update around the actual holiday season that detects the month and change the next morning backgrounds to snow.

That was the goal - now with the current size, it's a lot more like a proper game, instead of a mild train wreck like it was at launch, and the v2 had more than a few people saying, "It's a bit short." I think the current, newest experience is finally "finished," and with the edits, we're now going to keep this timeline instead of shoehorning in new content & altering the timeline, since we've done that twice now.

Maybe. We'll see. It's a good idea, and I agree, if people aren't playing the Steam version especially this would be nice.

That sounds a lot like a bug. I'll review later and (since I've got a bug report on my discord as well, and need to review some things there) will fix for the next update, probably this weekend, or sooner if we're lucky & everything is easy to fix.

Lol, yeah, this is beyond my current capabilities and will probably remain on the "would be cool," pile.

Is actually super easy. Use python module to get current month then use that as a condition for the scene. Most of the work is actually rerendering the images in snow version. Though I admit rendering good snow can be a challenge in itself.

V3 Launches Today
Hey folks, Guess What?

The developer who brought you Horny Holiday V2 (not me, a member of my team) just finished the massive expansion to Horny Holiday, and wow, it's amazing. We've got *double* the story - yep, it went from slim bloke to big boss, with more than ten thousand words of brand new story, taking the total to just over twenty thousand words now in the game.

What else is new?

• 700 plus brand new images in full HD
• A whole new sandbox to explore, which is the gym inside the holiday party where Jack & Joy meet
• 15 plus new animations
• Over 70 new audio and music tracks
• A brand new beginning and a new epilogue, so it's worth playing through from the very beginning to the end
• Updates to the replay feature including the game overs, in case you want to revisit those
• Five new achievements to earn in game

Go on, give it a whirl and experience Joy.

Yeah, the trouble is, what about the audience that we're targeting in China? It gets really tricky fast with geography & weather, where I used to live, there was no such thing as "snow," in that area. Where I live now, we get snow, but it didn't used to be an annual thing here. The location for the game is also inspired by (where I used to live that has no snow)...so yeah, tricky as I said.

I do like seasonal things, which is why I created a holiday (themed) game in the first place.

Thanks for the quick update regarding the punching bag infinite sparkofjoy bug.

Forgot to mention last time regarding that sequence. Since joypunchbagpunched variable is already incremented entering the joypunchbagpunch label, the first MC reaction of "if joypunchbagpunched == 0:" will never occur. Is the intent that the reaction occurs with first punch and then sparkofjoy bonus with second punch? As it is right now we will always get that +1 sparkofjoy bonus.

Yep those are now working as intended.

Although (shhhh) it's not me that made the game after the v1 last December, the expansion launched in May, and this one, were made by my partner. If you noticed the code in the game is better than my other games, that's the reason why - apparently, reading the Ren'py documentation is helpful to ensure you can do more complex stuff.

Also, the reason why Her Heart's Desire + Milfy Cases, both, have a lot less code & functionality in them, since I'm less savvy with Renpy overall than my partner.

I mean, that remote control for the music in Horny Holiday - *way* better than the HHD menu to update the music, right? I thought that was super fun. So many other things too in the Holiday game are awesome simply because it would be slightly over my head to make them, or take me like five times longer, at least.

Yeah, the steam cloud is supposed to be there, but there was a bug with it, and I'm not sure exactly how to triage & fix. It's on my backlog of things to improve once I can figure it out. I appreciate the reminder (and clarity that yes, the only bug in the report does have a negative impact).

It worked really well, I played here alternating between the buttons and the screen touches, and everything worked perfectly. And the subtitles weren't too small.
