The game is made in RenPy 8.0, so saving should work just like in any other RenPy game. I'm not sure if the version uploaded here isn't broken, but haven't heard any complaints about saves from people who bought it on Steam/Itch.
The game is about 1 hour long on the first playthrough with a bunch of branching options.
Also yes, it's meant as a prequel for Horny Witch: Crusade, which is currently in development.
Thanks, I will try again. Indeed, I tried to save like with any other Renpy game, but it did not work, I will try to see again, maybe it is only a problem of wrong access rights coming from the archive file.
