The reward for beating the game (and doing the side quests each daytime section?) was actually pretty dang nice.

For anyone having trouble going to the bottom floor and into the far right room (the staff linen closet) and hiding in the bin there is very strong as it removes ~80% of the enemies.

Benefit of hiding in the 1st floor laundry room instead of the other spots is twofold:
1) The room has *three* item spawns so you can try for health pills (the red ones) or the stopwatch which advances time by a good chunk. The items will respawn on a timer even if you're in the room.
2) The far left of the hall has a succubus who teleports you back to the stairs if you get close. This is actually really strong as if the one enemy who can rips you out of the room and to the bathroom, you can go to the left, get teleported to stairs, and then go right back into the laundry room without needing to risk being in the hall for longer than strictly necessary.

It's a shame the best strategy seems to be removing as much interaction from the game as possible as if you don't just hole up somewhere the roaming girls are BRUTAL and it's very easy to get caught out in no-win situations.

So enemies are still active after beating the 5th night?
Also can't we just leave the building at this point or is the exit still blocked?

Edit: Just beat Night 5 again and you still can't use the exit.

Great game, I do suggest locking your health to 3 with cheat engine because it gets a little exhausting dashing around for pills and getting nuked by RNG.

10/10 art and game direction though.

Here's my Cheat Engine table for those who don't really want to waste their time with health and just want to play, the first three are for the first nights and the last one works for the 4th and 5th in my experience
The table doesn't seem to work for me, the values are unknown. Im on 2nd night.

Is there an issue with making a spiritual successor?
I never said nor meant to imply there was an issue with it being a carbon copy, I simply pointed out a striking resemblance, and I even mentioned that one likely could find a game older than both of these that ticks off every box.

I liked Afterschool Tag a lot, enough that it remains on my PC. But this has... quite a few imperfections that I'll be critical of. Thing is, I know that my own criticisms of it are rather hollow, and not properly respectful to the game itself, rather than comparing it to what already exists. I could gripe on balance, or comment on the fact that the author didn't change the light dimming effect for the gallery, or that some parts of the game aren't intuitive enough, but that's all in comparing it to Afterschool Tag, and not to the genre itself. A lot of horror-escape games have these quirks, and games like Afterschool Tag and Parasitic Evil (to name another example) stand out in addressing them, but that doesn't discount the game's worth.

I also did not really get far enough to properly conduct an actual personal review, so I could only go off what I expected moving forward and what I saw from the first two nights. I think the game is well made overall (it certainly tries to be a bit more ambitious in depth than Afterschool Tag, that I will grant), but shows a few spots where it's lacking compared to contemporaries. It is certainly a massive step up compared to the other game this developer made (which felt more like a demo/showcase), and I am very glad to see them making excellent progress, more pixel-art games of this genre are always welcome.

For anyone who doesn't want to go into this game unprepared, here's the lowdown on the monsters:

Ghost: She only moves when you're not looking. She'll try to touch you; if she does, you lose a life. To get rid of her, shine a flashlight at her until she disappears.

Nun: She will randomly spawn in some room, mark on your map as pink figure. When she spawns she will start to chant (a bar that slowly fills up will appear above your head), to stop her you must touch her in the room where she appears. (She dosn't move) (p.s. a cristal will appear on you slowing your movement as much as the bar is filled.)

The nudist/flasher: She dosn't do much. She serves as a hiding spot stealer/plaintiff. Her footsteps mimic the Nurse's, creating confusion. She can use hiding spots; if she's in one with you, she'll trigger a trap, costing a life. She sometimes asks you to find her pink dildo (location marked on your map). She'll follow you until you retrieve it. If you hide from the Nurse, the Nudist/flasher may stand by the hiding spot, revealing your location. That is all she does.

The Nurs:She is a manace. She moves around the hospital, if she sees you, she will begun to chase you. The only way how to escape her is to outrun her or hide (she will pull you out of hiding spots if she sees you entering them).

the TV ghost (a.k.a. Sadako Yamamura) :She is pain in the ass. Appears in hallway TVs. She's inactive until you walk beneath her TV (indicated by static). Once activated, she drains your stamina; if your stamina depletes, you lose a life. (So if you are being chase and activet her, you are good as dead.(recomended to have green pill or coffe) Leave the hallway via the nearest door or stairs to deactivate her.

The poster/paiting ghost: Similar to Sadako Yamamura ; inactive until you walk under a possessed painting/poster. Once activated, she chases you. Run away; her chase ends when she snaps her fingers (but she'll capture you if she gets too close).

Hachishakusama (The "Eight Feet Tall Lady"): Appears in the elevator. No hostile action if you avoid entering with her. So stay out!

The cat girl: This one is little tricky. Becomes invisible upon spotting you and chases you. Contact results in a life loss. Try to out run her.

The teddybears: The second most anoying enemy in the game. Found outside patient rooms. They demand something for leting you go in to the room; failure to comply costs a life. Especially dangerous in conjunction with Sadako Yamamura.

The Vampire: Transforms into a bats and chases you. You need to shine at her whit the flash light untill the bats disperse.

The Woman Behind Curtains: This character is as helpful as she is a pain in the ass. She will randomly occupy patient rooms, and when you walk into them, you will have a limited time to escape. This event will deactivate any chases you activated prior, including the Nun's chanting. To escape the patient room, you will need to find a key in one of the spots marked by a star. Failing to do so will result in a lost life. To be honest with you, surviving this encounter is pure RNG. You will fail 70% of the time when you encounter her.

And that’s it! I hope this little information dump helps you beat the game, but I’m sure you will figure it out even without the help. Take care! :)

Edit: Thanks to user Zane Carlson for informing me about the typos and mistakes in my comment. English is not my native language, and when you mix in dyslexia, it can be quite challenging.
