Oh I see what's going on. Mr Moneybags Recluse is bringing you in as a fall guy. He wants you to be associated with his name - that's why he's recalled all his guards for people to meet you and sent all these journalists and producers to see "him". Then once the world is introduced to "Billy Anderson" you cop a bullet to the back of the skull in an accident and Moneybags fades into obscurity with the billion of his wealth he transferred away. The only small handful that arrested him are either bought or discredited.

Why not be a better writer and go with a true detective totally outta left field outrageously convoluted plot:
The cops were looking for their money and got the man ganster style - training days, man on fire - where law enforcement want the money for themselves and the guy gets to realistically be the victim while MC gets to realistically be scraping by with a totally unrelated story line of his own.?

We own this city, Mayor of Kingstown, Sabotage - this is a way more of a well travelled twist plot line.

Completely off the mark, but I genuinely appreciate the effort.
The truth about Anderson is something else entirely. Much simpler. And, of course, much more absurd, which is usually how I like to do things.
