Found problem we were running into and $ elaine = "Mom" works. Must be in the game, either Start new game or Load. We were doing from splash screen.

Regarding the name "Oops". This is a nickname that some of the characters use to refer to the MC. The reason for this name will be explained in an upcoming chapter of the story. So no, it's not a typo.

Hey everyone, we've been reading through your comments, and I gotta say we are really pleased that they have been mostly very positive. Thank you all (positive AND negative commenters) for taking the time and interest to give us some feedback. We really appreciate it.
Just a couple of things to add here.
1. This intro release is the original introduction to the story that we wanted to do from the start. So, even though the game says "remastered", this release is actually almost all new material.
2. For all those who are hating on Elaine right now for being a hard ass toward the MC, you don't know what's been going on between them. That's not your fault, because we haven't told you the backstory, except in little bits and pieces, in dribs and drabs. Basically, the MC has been a total waste of space for the last five years. The death of his guardian, John, really hit him hard, and sent him into a tailspin for a long time. Elaine, Sally, and Kate are all at their wit's end with him, trying to get him to start living his life again, and get himself back on track. Plus, Elaine is in financial straits, and is about to lose her house. That's why she is acting the way she is toward him. But be patient, this is only the introduction, there's lots more to come.

The one Unity game that is an absolute dream is "Timestamps"
But generally, it seems, Renpy is preferred for ease of function.
There was one dev who had been in Renpy and moved his next game to unity. it was a failure so he ported back

... and it's almost a nightmare for Linux users. So for VNs Ren'py is the best anyway.
Question though:
During the call to Sally and Kate there is a lot of the word "oops" for example:
"She's tired of trying to make ends meat and you're not pulling your weight financially
C'mon Oops, get your act together! Get a Job! Stop wallowing in the past it's been five years"
"sorry Oops it's time to stand on your own two feet"
and
"Elaine was over at my place the other night and after several glasses of wine she let it all out. She cried oops"
I've enabled the incest patch as directed above. But could this "oops" wording be indicative of a need to rework the patch somehow?
