Yep. Definitely a bug with the most recent version. It *is* a beta, after all and there have been some fairly extensive changes over the last couple of updates. According to the Eek forums, the next patch is due out on Steam within the week, so once that's out, you can probably safely assume that all of the publicly released versions are going to have that particular problem fixed.

EDIT: As per the official website:

  • Improved lighting
  • Improved translation tools and mechanics
  • Added official Chinese translation to the game
  • Fixed a bug where you couldn’t take Madison’s diary
  • Fixed a bug with Katherine not responding to the cell jammer
  • Fixed a bug with the Load Game menu not working from the main menu.

So there we go.

Just downloaded 0.7.5 to and the game can not be opened, says file were damaged and I tries again same thing happen. Anyone has a solution? its a MacOS 10.12.6

A formalized list will accompany the full push tomorrow. For now if you look at the official website and look at the notes for 0.7.4, 0.7.5, 0.7.6, and 0.7.7, that will encompass the changes from 0.7.3 to the new version.

I am stuck with finding the painkillers for Patrick. Would someone be able to put a screen shot or describe the location? The 0.73 walkthrough says behind master bedroom door on a shelf. I cant seem to find it there.

That's just incase the Original Story does not download when you first start up the game.

HP always downloads the most recent Original Story to keep the story up to date.

FYI it will also be downloading official translations from us in the future. You'll see this in Mods/Languages now.

For anyone whose shit is broken. By shit I mean your connection to our servers and therefore your Story/Character files. By broken I mean red text on the screen or characters disappearing or acting insane (abnormally so...) in general.

We're probably going to keep this format moving into early 0.8.x so just try changing the number upon future pushes.

Hi.. I follow the Instructions but it jump back to old version.. I try 7.6 and 7.7 both same jump back old version.. Do i need to play offline? Pls guide

Where did you get the game from? If you're a Steam user, you need to close Steam before you copy the new version of the game into the install folder, since Steam doesn't like you messing with its shit. You can play House Party without Steam running (thankfully), so just close up Steam, copy the files that you downloaded into the Steam install folder, overwrite everything and give it a try. If it works, just remember that you're going to need to make sure Steam is closed before you play House Party from now on.

If it's another (non-Steam) version of the game you're having problems with, more details and accompanying screenshots would be incredibly helpful. 'It doesn't work' is a bit vague for the purposes of troubleshooting.
