Really? I don't remember the English being an issue. I played it a few weeks ago, but I had no trouble understanding what was going on, and the dialog seemed legitimate. Maybe a little stilted during the sex scene, but nothing worth focusing on.The "idea" for the humor and heartfelt moments are there. However, none of this gets passed on to the reader because the delivery has big problems. Grammar errors, odd sentence structures, weird phrasings, etc. These get in the way of delivering the right emotions. It detracts from proper characterizations.
Pretty much the whole game... Understanding what's going on isn't the problem. It's a matter of delivery of lines. Imagine watching a movie where everyone is speaking in Engrish, however mild it is. It holds back proper characterization and immersion into the world when we can constantly spot anomalies in the speech. I say this because this game seems to be going for an actual plot. And it seems like a story worth telling. If it was a straightforward porn game focused on sexual interactions, the level of English here would be sufficient.Really? Can you give an example of a section of dialog that you felt didn't deliver the right emotion due to poor grammar or phrasing?
Thank you for the feedback. I see your point. I was worried about the essence of the text because obviously I'm not a native speaker. Anyway I've already found a proofreader. He's currently working on the intro script, and will proofread the next update as well. So expect better English in the upcoming update which I'm working on all my free time now.Ok memes aside, please tell me you guys are getting a translator/proofreader/editor?
It's not the worst English by any means, but it's bad enough to hold back the game from the potential it definitely has. I can tell the essence of the text is pretty good. The meaning behind the words have substance. The "idea" for the humor and heartfelt moments are there. However, none of this gets passed on to the reader because the delivery has big problems. Grammar errors, odd sentence structures, weird phrasings, etc. These get in the way of delivering the right emotions. It detracts from proper characterizations.
The renders are absolutely fantastic. I like the camera angles and cinematography in general. The plot seems very well thought out. It certainly looks like the plot is more substantial than being just a means for porn delivery. The pacing is great. Scene transitions are smooth with natural breaks and start to the scenes. It almost feels like a TV show or movie like Ready Player One. These are all things that can absolutely make this game stand out over the rest of the copy pasta games flooding the scene. The English needs to be fixed to reach the potential this game has though. Good luck .
You're not supposed to see the variable names. They can have just been named "a" and "b". If they're shown on screen (without mod) then yeah they should have better displayed namesI'm going to leave a totally personal silly little "complaint".
Beta points serve to be more romantic and gentle, right?
So if I go this route, it doesn't mean that the protagonist will be a beta man who accepts everything they tell him, humbles himself, or lacks willpower. It only serves to be more gentle and romantic.
In general, I like it. But if this is so, the names of the points (Alpha and Beta) have nothing to do with personality. And I think the wrong message is being delivered. According to this, being generous, kind and gentle makes you a beta man. And being pushy and aggressive makes you an Alpha man... I honestly don't think so.
Like I said, both routes are perfect. The only thing that doesn't fit me is the name. I insist that it gives the wrong message. I think it would have been better to give them another name. Rebellion points and Chivalry points, for example. Something like that.
And... I'm not a fan of domination, but if Octavia treats me kindly, I'm willing to make her my Mommy.
Yeah I know. Anyway, I think there is no walkthrough mod. You're not supposed to see the variable names. They can have just been named "a" and "b". If they're shown on screen (without mod) then yeah they should have better displayed names
Perhaps you're right. I thought of them as just non-visible variables for shaping players nature. Anyway now I'm implementing in-game stats screen, and they will be visible. I consider renaming them. But still not sure how they should be called)Yeah I know. Anyway, I think there is no walkthrough mod.
Still, in the Developer Notes the names are mentioned. As I said, it is a silly and totally personal "complaint". It doesn't affect the gameplay at all, it was just that. Although it is not displayed on the screen, these points are known to exist. And it's just the names, I think they could have been chosen better. If it's just being nice and romantic versus being pushy and aggressive, I don't think this are suitable names for the routes. That's all.
Something similar to what havenless said could work for example "Alpha" points could be Rebel like she said and "Beta" could be something like Gentleman or Diplomat. You could also keep it simple with something like Rude and Polite.I consider renaming them. But still not sure how they should be called)
I like Rebel and Diplomat to define MC personality in terms of plot interactions. I feel like there are inherent shortcomings if we try to use just one variable for everything, including sexual/romantic preferences. A rebel who values individual freedom and not bowing to the authorities could still be a gentle lover who treats his friends well. Similarly, a diplomatic person who doesn't want to stir the pot and antagonize the leader of the future doesn't necessarily have to be a sub or a gentle lover.Something similar to what havenless said could work for example "Alpha" points could be Rebel like she said and "Beta" could be something like Gentleman or Diplomat.
