This VN is a challenge in two ways:
1. The Story
The story moves across three timelines:
- The first timeline is the present, in which our heroes actually live, and we also know what will happen to the world in that time.
- The second timeline is the first future, in which the action has mainly taken place up to this point, and here, too, we already know what will happen to the world.
- The third timeline is the second future, where we can already see how stupid humanity actually is and how it learns absolutely nothing from its mistakes! On the other hand, we can already guess where the story might be heading, but let's wait and see.
I find jumping back and forth between timelines a challenge.
2. Translation
My native language is not English, and therefore I rely on a translation. What you English-speaking people won't realize when you play through this VN on your screen is how this VN was programmed. I've translated many VNs, but I can honestly say this one is a real challenge. It took a lot of learning to figure out how this VN was programmed. Here are my findings:
The intro is written in English until Octavia first appears. After that, the language switches to Ukrainian. This remains the case until the end of S2Ch1. Now things get curious.
Fact 1: There is a folder called tl/english in the game directory.
Fact 2: All scripts up to S2CH1 are translated there.
Fact 3: The subfolders for S2CH2 and S2CH3 do not exist there.
A review of the scripts showed that starting in S2CH2, the text switched back to English. I don't want to go into too much detail, but basically, the VN needs to be broken down into three partial translations. I've never seen anything like this in a VN before.
My conclusion about this VN:
The VN has a very interesting story, is very well written, and the images/animations are simply "WOW!" This VN is so good for me that I have to mention it by name in my signature.
