However the artist isn't necessarily the person that made the game, for instance I think legend of queen opala was actually made by a female but the art was all made by male artsits.

Most complete games are made by small teams of at least 2 people, solo development is kinda brutal, especially for 2D games, unless you're using ai art or smth (blegh).
