Hey everyone!
Progress on the update is coming right along, though I gotta admit I feel bad to keep saying "it's coming soon" and another week passing.
I've had a few setbacks since my last post, namely getting in a car crash where I was T-boned by a F-250 truck. It hit right behind my door and everyone walked away, though I got a pretty nasty scar on my forehead that needed stitches.
I've been working through it trying to not let it slow me down because after all, 'tis but a scratch!
Another piece is trying not to let myself get too perfectionistic. I've been focusing on dumb things you probably don't care about like character development and motivations.
At this point, I'm glad I released the first half of the update. At the time, I thought it was 3/4 of the content but realistically it was about the halfway mark.
My biggest mistake with the planning for this update and cause for my personal frustration was not realizing how big it was going to be. Not having the watch opens a lot of possibilities that are unique enough that I thought were worth exploring.
While the two paths of the main game will explore the extremes of using the watch for selfish or selfless ends, this one acts as a more neutral option where it's more about the characters reacting to their new reality.
The other extra piece is that I wanted to come up with an extra bit at the end. I believe I mentioned the passing of Deamonaster, one of the more active contributors on Discord. He was firmly in the "big is never big enough" camp, so I've been working on a scene that does its best to honor his memory.
Anyway, I'm finally happy with the way this update is turning out, now I just need to finish it.
