Very definitely remade, not just remastered.

I played the 1.0, and had a save, which is now gone in this version. My persistent settings were also gone, since I had to reset Text Speed back to max (which I have quite literally never, ever left at the RenPy default setting this dev left it at). So this one's a completely new game id, too.

The story is entirely different. The intro is entirely different. This is, effectively, a brand new game that has virtually nothing to do with the old version as far as I can tell. In the old version, the MC was a famous guitarist who performed with Lennon, and the opening scene was the two of them fucking a couple girls (groupies maybe), and then he finds out about Sara(h) and settles down to playing guitar at birthdays, and it jumped forward to the MC taking her to school like he does a little bit into this version. There was no criminal backstory for MC/Lennon. Chloe was never named.

Other changes:

• Sara's name was "Sarah" in the previous version.
• The sandbox/free roam elements were completely absent, those are brand-new for this version.
• The introduction with the MC and Sara at the MC's brother's grave, followed by them moving/driving while the MC reminisces and sets up the plot, was not present in 1.0 at all.
• Lauren (beach girl) is completely new.
• Hanmol (school girl near park) is completely new. (This name might be wrong, since I found it in the scene's progress variable.)
• Sara(h)'s friends at home have completely changed. Old version was two girls with black ponytails, new version is four girls with much more distinctive looks.

Besides the unnamed/no-speaker-var characters mentioned above who were removed, the following characters (who did have speaker vars) were all removed:

• c = Charlotte, wealthy blonde client of the MC, Alisa/Alek's mother.
• ali = Alisa, Charlotte's daughter and Alek's twin, blonde guitar student of the MC's.
• ale = Alek, Charlotte's son and Alisa's twin.
• so = Sophie, did not appear yet and had only a speaker var.

Other characters who were mentioned in 1.0 but aren't now:

• Charlotte's wealthy mother was mentioned.
• Sara(h)'s bio-mom was mentioned.

So now we get our first update with "new" content, and... uh... Well. I honestly started writing this before I'd gotten to any new content because I was bored of spending an hour repeating the same events and hunting for if there is a character I can gain points with at a given time/day combination. Imagine my surprise when I found out that there isn't any new content at all. The game's just gotten worse for no reason.

So. First, other changes:

• My save loaded the wrong spot, as is common for sandboxes saved during an event, so I started over and have been using skip to see what's changed.
• Variables indicate the character I mentioned as 'Hanmol' from variables is now "Molly", though her scene is otherwise unchanged.
• The unnamed guy at the club with red armband is now "Adam", and his introduction scene was rewritten significantly; he's no longer nearly as much of an asshole, and he no longer directly threatens the MC/Sara. Now he just warns the MC that the MC and Sara may be in danger (this change was apparently made just so that you have to grind trust with him).
• Beyond Adam's changes, there is ZERO NEW STORY CONTENT. All new dialogue that isn't part of Adam's introduction event is in the vapid, pointless affection/trust conversations that advance literally nothing except a grindy-ass point total.
• Sara's second event, bringing her schoolmates home? Was removed entirely. This game has now officially included LESS STORY CONTENT every single update.
• But the biggest change? Sara and Lauren now have "affection" vars, and Adam has a "trust" var.

Yep! This release, the dev has now managed to include everything bad about sandboxes (which is also still untagged in the game thread (I did report for it) and in the Genre spoiler).

1. Stupid grindy endlessly-repeated events to increase affection or trust? Check.
2. Endlessly-repeated affection/trust events being vapid pointless conversations that advance nothing meaningful, since they have to be able to be repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over? Check.
3. Little to no indication of who will be where, when? Check.
4. Useless hints? Check.
5. Affection/trust gain for most characters gated to specific times/days? Check.

It would have been a challenge for the dev to intentionally make it less convenient to play than he did by accident. This is a remarkable case study for a game that has become demonstrably worse with every single update. I did appreciate the story/intro changes from initial release to the sandbox rework (some day, devs will realize that basically no one wants to start a game watching some dude who isn't the MC fucking some girl), but everything else has been abjectly terrible and made the game actively more frustrating and less enjoyable.

As examples:

• Sara has been at the hint "I guess that's all for now; I have to wait" from the moment the sandbox opened up at 25 affection to 47 affection so far, and several weeks of in-game time. After looking at the code, I realize it's because post-intro, Sara has ZERO STORY. Not even the second 'main story' event she used to have. Same with Lauren, zero story.
• To see the Molly introduction event, you have to get Adam to Trust 10. Getting Adam to Trust 10 is an exercise in frustration, since he's only available like two to four times per week.

Oh, one last nitpick: The affection stats screen is laid out very badly. The only way to exit it is the tiny "X" between the arrows INSIDE the picture frame (which, intuitively, should only be affecting the image, not the whole page). Those arrows are also the only way to scroll between people.



TL;DR: This one is not enjoyable to play. Maybe in a while (and it'll likely be a long while, given how little was added in this update), but for now, it's pure frustration with zero meaningful content. I can't even recommend playing this for people who like to play bad games for the amusement, because there's just nothing really in it yet.

Five new events have been added to the story:

Main Story Event:

• 87 new scenes with 116 different dialogues, focusing on the progression of the main character's story.

Lauren's Events:

• Two new events have been added, featuring 68 new scenes and 136 dialogues, along with the introduction of a new character, Melanie.

Sara and Melanie's Event:

• One event has been added for each character, both of which are interconnected. These two events include 64 scenes and 83 dialogues.

This brings the total to 220 scenes and over 300 dialogues.

This update was delayed significantly. Most of the content wasn’t completed on time, so it will be included in the next update with additional content.
