Depends what you're doing. If it's just picture slides with some text then renpy is just better.No need to use Ren'Py for a VN -- just because 90% out there use Ren'Py as well...?! I've seen great VNs using all kind of different engines, and if they're well done, those are great games despite (or because of) the fact they don't use Ren'Py.
Not only everyone is more used to it at this point, but it's also more friendly for image compression and mods/cheats.
Unless ofcourse the dev has zero knowledge of Renpy and Unity is something he's more well versed in. Or they want to gain proficiency at it for future, more complicated projects. Otherwise it's just cutting tomatoes with a chainsaw, you could do it, but you probably shouldn't, just use a knife.
