The thing that disturb me is not the pixel filter, but the cloned face on every female character.

Good luck with your game.

I really like the models, esp the goth brunette, but the filter is killing any enjoyment I might have had. There are other ways to set the retro tone, you don't have to make your game look like one of those terrible jap censored porn, only this time the entire thing is censored. Why ruin something that appeared to be good renders by adding those obnoxious pixels? It is ultimately the dev's choice but I urge him to reconsider. He will certainly get more players by removing the pixels.

I actually like the pixelated effect, but not constantly like this.

So, what I'd suggest, is to
1) display images in a somewhat drawn style like you'd find in some comics, or like the banner (as well as in some VNs like the LoP ones), not too detailed, strong highlights, maybe some outline effects, etcetera.
and
2) use the pixel filter for things like scene transitions when changing location or making time jumps. It may also be suitable for making summaries for things the player has already seen, or at the end of a scene when a protagonist contemplates what just happened (so you don't have to use the annoying black-screen thoughts that other developers use). Maybe even for displaying things the protagonist actually isn't aware of, like two NPCs meeting eachother for some shady deal, it can help obscure who they actually are, while still giving some clues.

I think that this way, you can achieve the retro-vibe and use this very nice filter, without annoying the player. You'll effectively use it as a narrative tool instead of just the overall style.

Desperately needs to have the filter effect removed. The gimmick is amusing for about 10 seconds before it gets ugly as sin and irritating; it doesn't add anything. Haha, I get it, it's the '80s, now let me see the actual images. Settle for the dialogue boxes being pixelated, maybe use the filter for scene transitions, but the renders themselves need to be clear.

I just finished playing this for a bit. Just some stuff I want to mention. Also, congrats on your release! :) if I was rich, I would so be a patreon of yours.

The music was pleasurable to listen to :3. My eyes didn't hurt, and I didn't get a headache from playing this lol.

I think you should add some arrows/pointers on the floor in front of the doors/locations we can enter/leave. Characters you can speak to should have a ! or something to let us know we can interact with them or if they have more story content. Objects that can be interacted with (like, your locker, doors etc) should light up, like a highlight. You can even just have options pop up when you mouse over a character or items, ! <--- Story Content, an Eye for the view option, etc.

I think if you add a run/jog option, it can solve the issue of the character moving slowly. Basic Movement = Walk, Secondary Movement = Run/Jog for the "I Need to get somewhere fast!" moments. The inventory could just be like a wallet icon on the bottom screen or top. It just constantly opens up when you move your mouse to the top.

One thing that bothers me, is the dialogue box. Is the text supposed to come out the actual box? I just want all the text to fit in it >.<

That's about it for now. If I have anything else to add, I'll be back o.o

Since everyone talk about the pixel stuff ( really bad idea btw )

I'm gonna criticize something else : the engine
When you make a VN -> use renpy

Easy to mod, easy to edit and replace stuff... who the fuck use unity to make a VN ?

"yeah but renpy don't allow complex puzzle gameplay"
DON'T MAKE PUZZLE ! nobody like it , people want complex story branching, not annoying mini games

Wow tough crowd. Maybe it's my 14inch monitor, maybe the nostalgia of old Sierra adventure games, but I really love this!
To some extend I agree.
Thing is this is not an old school point&click RPG, it is supposed to have adult content.
And for that this graphics style is awfully close to a censor.

As I said above the graphics style need not to be completely turned off or revamped, just in parts "less worse" i.e. mid 90's instead of end 80's/early 90's pixelated graphics.

Someone mentioned that this graphics style could be continued in pretty much everything apart from the ... let's say personal interactions.
It could even work as a artistic tool for things the MC is not totally aware of, like a drug deal in a dark alley somewhere.
But as it is and all the time?
No.

I like the filter, not every game needs to have the same boring models in the same boring lighting, almost a retro vibe, almost

The total lack of any pussy hair just kills the retro vibe for me. They don't need to all be 70's bushes gone wild but bald beavers were almost nonexistent in your chosen era. Overall, you're close, just needs a few minor tweaks to clothes and hair. As is, I get much more of an early-mid 90's sitcom/movie produced by middle aged Hollywood execs that haven't realized it's a new decade yet (think Saved by the Bell or California Dreams). Personally, the art style helps with my emersion but given others comments maybe some adjustment is needed here too. I'm not sure what's happening that causes so many to be injured by a simple lowres image.

I like the concept. Good luck!

I mean, i understand the game must give that late 80's early 90's game vibes, but it wouldn't been bad if it was more clear and not THAT pixelated.

I think it's too overdone in my opinion, you can barely see anything, especially that in the banner, the characters aren't pixelated and it's pretty misleading at first if you don't look at the images.

Looks original and i'll try out once it gets a little more content.

"use renpy because i want to edit it"
Wot?
Renpy is a terribly archaic arbitrarily restrictive potential limiting resource hog.
