Extremely grindy, way too much for a game of this kind. The event percentages are a neat feature, but significantly flawed in their implementation. Unlocking the stat max levels should be more clear, and directions to those events from the navigation menu, currently, you either have to continuously explore everything for every time of day for a chance at finding the event to trigger so you can unlock the next level. There are some hints, but it is not clear what to do or when, especially when you get quests that are impossible to complete at the current stage. Which leads to the next part: you should never get a quest to do something if you are 2 max levels away from being able to complete it without clear steps on what you need to get there.
The sandbox style works well, but you need a more linear quest system since you gatekeep certain things heavily behind capping max levels until certain things are done. There is way too much of a grind, constantly repeating events over and over gets tedious with so few events, especially at the start. Even with cheats its a chore to play.
My 2 cents: get rid of the experience point system to level up the stats. Have a straight 1-10 Corruption/fitness, etc., level system, completing the main "quest parts" that unlock the next max level for that stat just grants you that level instead and unlocks the next series of events in the game. The events should be clearer on what they are and how to complete them. You can keep a lust bar for everyone to increase the odds of certain events happening, which can work well with the chance system you have.
if max levels didn't have caps on waiting to complete story events, then the normal XP feature to level them would work better.
