Now the trend of the devs...collect money for doing nothing... always making excuses for not delivering anything...
It's definitely not a new thing, that's been the case for a decade at this point. The only difference is, the churn is much higher since the gooning community has increased, so it's rarely ever that the developers see a major dent in their income despite constant delays, excuses, procrastinating, and trying to milk the shit out of it.
Sadly, money is the only factor where you really have control over the creator, and lazy devs won't act until they feel the squeeze and pressure when their wallets lighten. It's totally up to the developers' goodwill to deliver updates, and they're doing it as long as they keep making money, and even then, if only they're motivated to do so. You can't physically demand any accountability, nor demand any results or a finished product from the creators... You're entirely reliant on their generosity whether you're a paying customer or not.
Also, if you cancel your subscription, someone else is always there who will replace it, or a new individual might find out about the game and support them... There is a huge chunk of people who don't even use any forums, they simply support Patreon or SubscribeStar directly and have no interactions or discussions with anyone else about the game.
