This is old (and i think long abandoned) color mod. There is another one by Daseson who also works on coloring the Imouto Fantasy spinoff by same game creator.

Because I'm still getting likes on old posts about it here, Sister Explorer's rework is planned to be full color. I believe I read it on the artist's cien / fanbox that was linked from Inusuku's cien post that hinted at it.
It will be! Tatsuya, the artist, confirmed it'll be full color on his Fanbox post about the game. We know absolutely nothing else about it yet but it seems like it'll be part of the Sister Travel series so I expect it to be on par with it but it's too early to tell.
Also of note, Inusuku seems to have fallen in love with Lil Sis' classmates and blames Tatsuya for having made them so fucking cute. Inusuku keeps telling himself that this is a work where you will ONLY get to flirt with Lil Sis and he has no DLCs planned for it... but he still regrets it because they are so fucking adorable. I mean look at them, who can blame Inusuku for feeling like that:
He wants to talk to Tatsuya because "for some reason" he feels like increasing the number of illustrations to 200% (currently at 185%)... which means we'll likely get a few CGs with these NPCs.

The demo that came out showed it was a sequel to Sister Travel. The party gets onto a ship, there's an attack, this blue haired merchant rico falls into the water and brother saves her. He ends up getting amnesia or something (mtool translation) and they start living on the island.
I doubt all of that will be gone by the time explorer is remade.
Yeah but Tatsuya also said that Inusuku basically restarted development from scratch, I don't know how much of that demo will make it into the final release.
Hm... I'm downloading the official translation, but when i try to run the exe it says that there's a data folder missing. What's up with that? Edit: the unofficial version is also missing something the game needs to start, what's going on??

It's probably the file path. Move the game folder to a shorter path and/or with no special characters.
Huh, how about that. I store these kinds of games in a folder with an invisible character as it's name. As soon as i took the file out, it worked. How about that? Thanks

Personally, I don't expect it to be released any earlier than late 2026.

You can check the progress yourself. The art is done beyond the original plans already (like almost 200% done) but the rest of the game scenarios and logic is yet to be finished. Who knows how quickly that will progress.
