Since most people are assuming it's the king's death, I'll just throw out random, but thoughtful guesses. Seeing as I sort of agree that it might be time for dear old dad to join his pops and brother in whatever is considered the equivalent of hell. I can also see this being a few other things.

- Could be Elis being officially crowded as the new King. Looking at the surroundings, it seems to be the throne room. Elis did get the crown last update from his father. Now the issue with this is it's too disorganized and looks like something unexpected happened. The crowd is showing varied emotions.

- Birth of his children with Isis or Aurora? He looks to be dressed up in a robe of some kind, but this could be him making his way to their chamber with a crowd gathering around from the news. Only turning around to address them before leaving the room. Might be good news or bad news during the birthing process.

- Now going back to the crowds face. This could be where Elis spills the beans about Alaina, or is addressing the situation with the elves in general. From the crowds facial expressions and some looking like they have some unrest. Elis might've decided to discuss how the elves will be handled going forward by summoning all of the people immediately. Possibly even Conrad could be the one that called everyone and Elis is late for the discussion. But I think it could have something to do with the elves. Maybe even the west as well.

- Or this could be another vision of the near future. Possibly a huge stretch. A vision of what? Who knows. Could be old man Elis coming in unexpectedly to see what his child is up to on the throne. The preview picture can be interpreted as him showing up after something is already going on.

Anyway, that's about all I can think of at the moment. The scene doesn't really look to be a happy one. So any number of things could have happened there. For all we know, Cass could be standing near the throne and called for Elis.

I'd like for any of these to be true, just to avoid killing Regis too early.

And it's because I want MC to have to look his father in the eye and tell him he had nothing to do with Seraphina/Lia being pregnant all of a sudden :ROFLMAO:

While I'm not necessarily interested in that thing myself. I would say Seraphina in particular has to get pregnant before he dies. Otherwise, it's going to be an even bigger shit show in the kingdom. It's already going to cause issues if she's pregnant in the first place. But after the King dies? It's fine if Lia gets pregnant afterwards because it's easier to hide with her. She hardly leaves the castle to begin with and doesn't really have an official role. The Queen is way different.

You can do an elaborate lie about the King wanting to leave behind one more child before passing away. Only Alaina, Elis and Lia would know he's sterile currently, from my understanding. And seeing as the King isn't as lucid, she might be able to convince him to agree with such a lie. Especially if she used her illusion spell on him. Since, if he's on his death bed, his final words would hold over whatever gossip one might try to conjure about the authenticity of it. At least for a time. This would be the least controversial path. Especially since I think Conrad was conceived when the former King was up in age as well.

Now see, you can't do this after the King dies. Especially if there's a time skip. People are overlooking it. But it's going to be way harder for Seraphina to get pregnant afterwards with the looming threat of another elven conflict. She's going to be viewed with even more scrutiny. Since a child with Elis will be predominately elven. Which in turn will make others suspect that she's siding with the elves in secret and has a lover. Something that Elis can't help with since he can't outright tell them he's fucking his mom and she's giving birth to her grandchild, obviously.

So while I don't too much care about the reaction of the King to Sera being pregnant. I would definitely say he needs to remain alive long enough for her to be impregnated. This would still obviously take Elis convincing her to have a child, of course. But if she doesn't, she would pretty much have no other chance later. Unless it's towards the very end of the game when he's Emperor.

Some damn fine gooner thinking there, partner.

I want this version to happen, too. This is a game/story that shouldn't have all the girls get pregnant right before the ending, but get pregnant multiple times throughout the story. Especially Seraphina, as she admitted to wanting a bigger family and more children of her own.
