On Boosty, under one of the comments where this question was asked, the dev wrote that the bug had been fixed.
At the end of the first chapter review Lady Alaina's Text was in Russian despite eng being selected. I chose Magic Path and released the elf girl

At first, I didn't think choosing a partner would make much of a difference. I chose Aurora. She is a pure, well-meaning girl. She doesn't contribute much to Elis; she's basically just there to bear children. With the latest update, I tried the Isis route, and I was definitely surprised. Isis is completely immersed in the story and definitely feels like canon. She's intelligent and radiates a dangerous aura. In fact, if I understood the update correctly, is she trying to take her father's throne? She says something like, "I have too many brothers, and they're always competing, but none of them take me seriously."

Can't say for sure, probably some Russian character/letter that the game font doesn't have, so it throws the squares. The rest of the sentence is probably the complete sentence.

You can't. It's an unavoidable event. Though, choosing a perk different from mage makes the portal event shorter. Since Elis being a Mage is what causes the portals to mess up and send them across different realities.

Okay, I think you're getting a little too rattled and upset here, and taking what I'm saying a LITTLE bit too seriously. What with the need for personal attacks coming out...I thought it would be clear by now, but I'm not being 100% serious with my takes most the time. And I am instead adding a lovely bit of anti-ELVEN agenda to them. " would have made it clear both times that I'm joking. But I guess not, as you seemed to have missed them both. And instead have decided to go on the warpath...If you want my real take on the matter. Then yes, YOU'RE QUITE RIGHT. You can make great cases that Alaina is a lovely hero of her people, and will be a great help and very loyal to a "good" alligned Elis. Just like you could do so for Cass. That she doesn't deserve death and is either very redeemable on the white path, or can be the perfect partner for a more "evil" Elis on the Green.
All 3 of the characters you've been able to kill off so far, will probably all have the chance of becoming one of the most loyal people to Elis, if that's how you want to play your game.
It's just that as I've said. That's NOT how I wanna play my game. I want to be a paranoid genocidal emperor, because it sounds funny and the only place I've been able to do something similar is CK3. Basically, I just think we're going to do things a little differently. I'm not looking for the best path, or the most optimal, at least not on my main run. Instead, I want to see how far I can push this little "anti-elven" path that LM looks to be giving me. Because it's something that I've never seen before, nor a path I've ever been able to pursue before.
And it's not like it's easy for me to do so as it is looking to be kinda fucked up, and I do kinda feel bad already. As seen here...
Basically, I feel like you're treating this as an actual debate you want to 'win' on. With what's the best OVERALL choices. Whereas I am just shitposting while trying to justify being a future genocidal maniac of Elvenkind...Damn, I just decided to replay the whole Val sequence again. Interesting you say that cause I was wondering if I made a mistake not choosing Aurora.
Well as the game progresses, perhaps part 2 or maybe part 3 (if there is one) will be the conquest of the south and north and then the Elf race to restore the empire
When we get to the South and North, we will see the importance of Isis and Aurora, so when that time comes, you answer yourself whether your choice is right or wrong
Even though I am a fan of a pure girl like Aurora, I have to admit that she is too inferior to Isis politically and will not help Elin much until the conquest of the North begins.
