There was an earlier preview that showed the portal content would be next update. Sadly for me, my main is still Mage and I have to be her portal buddy again. And with this recent preview, it seems that it will be long like the others. Also it's not like I hate the idea of parallel universe jumping. But it seems to take Elis away from the plot for a long time compared to other playthroughs where they're teleporting around the world instead and then right back to what they were doing.

The rendered environment resembles Elin's shop (second world). Perhaps they finally decided to help Elin from the first world. Or, less likely, we're in for a sex scene with all the Elins.

yes, the game is 100% done but LM always take about 2 days after finishing the update to make sure it is good to be released to the public so the update should most probably be released by Sunday evening.

Heavily doubt that's going to be the case. Only the Busty, Goth Elin makes that worth it anyway.

The alternate-worlds thing is a drag on game's development for several reasons:

• It requires the Mage perk, which only a 1/3rd of players (ideally) choose.
  • A perk which, by the way, has practically no other benefits throughout the rest of the game (meaning you are essentially only picking Mage for Elin's path), and is arguably the worst perk to have in terms of content "unlocked" otherwise.
• It requires unique resources & scenery (LM needs to use non-reusable backdrops and scenes for these portal adventures, especially for the modern alternates), which is a debatable luxury for a dev on a 70-day schedule.
• At the same time, it presents probably the most unfair scenario, as no other LI in the game comes even close to the amount of unique content granted when talking about other perks and LI combinations (the closest would be Bookworm + Ophelia, but even that pales in comparison).
  • The average sex scene is 50 renders in size; the average Mage portal adventures takes up about the same amount.
  • LM's average update size is roughly 500 - 550 renders, which means that these adventures (that only 1/3 of the players at best can see!) take up nearly 1/5th of their respective update if they include a sex scene... and all for what amounts to non-canon stuff as it's most likely never going to affect the main story in any significant way.

So, yeah, these adventures are expensive to produce, unfair, and a luxury that "hurts" the main story.

Yes. That's why if I had the choice, I would decline the portal trips. Unless I was romancing Elin on said playthrough. Since it not being canon means it's taking away from the plot too much for me. And because the Mage perk already became underwhelming as time went on. Making the player also sit through these adventures with Elin is basically dragging the game for Mage players with no interest. And in case it somehow gets overlooked. I said Mage players who don't have interest in said content. As the portal trips are unavoidable on Mage.

It's why when people say you're going to miss out on the crazy multiversal Elin orgy. I respond with the fact that the scene itself isn't even something I want to see or care about. It's like the potential content with Catalina. You think I'm going to be bothered that it's locked behind the Pacifist route? No. Because I don't do the pacifist route intentionally. As Catalina isn't worth it at all to me. Neither her beliefs or her character is enticing. So having a bunch of Elin fucking Elis won't all of a sudden make me love the portal stuff.

The wizard MC is disappointing now, but later on, when they're in a battle to conquer the north or south (opposite of the wife option) and have the librarian hiding behind the vampire on one route, a Conan-type MC on another, and on the wizard's route coming out of a portal with high school Elin piloting a Hammer and in the back with apocalyptic Elin as a sniper, alchemist Elin throwing explosive and incendiary bombs, and mage Elin throwing lightning bolts, then the situation changes...

and then this whole multiverse and powerless wizard thing starts to make sense...

locking main li sex scene behind classes is fk up already and i hate this game for it.

There are no sex scenes locked behind classes; MC can romance all main LIs and get their sex scenes regardless of the perk chosen - the only exception being Lia's extended cunnilingus scenes for Bookworm (though the actual penetration sex is still available for all perks).

No, after the content itself is 100% finished (which it is, LM is trolling us with the 99%), it usually takes him 1-2 days to release the update. And even this "testing" phase doesn't mean we won't get egregious bugs like Cassandra being alive for everyone

Feeling bad for my bookworm path elis, mage elis always have the extra content for portal and elin, fighter elis can win cass and fuck more side Li, left the bookworm only able to understand more about the plot in future updates and that vampire milf is always missing or not having such a content if you choose the farmer girl instead.
