I believe this is due to the MC's inexperience when it comes to the political intrigues of the court.
In Cass's path, she has a relationship of master and apprentice with the protagonist (at least that's how I see it), teaching him how the conflict for power works and how the fights between kingdoms have much deeper consequences.
The MC will mature over time, replacing this character development with a training montage à la Rocky 4 would be a very poor decision.

Green is Cass and the Western Lands (her dead mother and uncles home). MC likely give them power if he follows Cass.
White is being loyal to the Kingdom, never joining Cass.
Red can be aquired through different means. It effectively means MC being willing to betray and kill to obtain power himself, not unlike his grandfather, the red powerhungry, warmongering king.
Potential we may get other paths, like Violet if MC grants Isis and the South more power, or Blue(?) if Aurora and the Northern lands have his attention.

Won't be possible because my loyal wife always poisons her in my playthrough lol.
If you don't like her you can go for the prison route, also prepare for the lack of story contents in future updates when you decided to kill off one of the main LI.

With seemingly both Elin & Cass scenes in 0.9, LM better not fumble those. We need multiple POVs, positions (that aren't half-obscured), and of course, some cuddling at the end.

Damn she's sexy as fuck here. We need her to look like this more often to have a "Big Sister" look. Then there will be a scene at night where the Mc snuggles and hugs Cassandra before going to sleep. Then she brush off the Mc's hair while patting him on the head like a little baby.
Then the Mc will have a baby like tantrum to Cassandra because of a certain problem.
Then Cassandra will say: It's ok baby brother let your Big Sister handles it for you, you know I'm always here for you right?
If that scene happens I WILL CHANGE MY ROUTE TO LITTLE BROTHER!!!!!
