Been said several times now, but it's a bug that's already fixed in the next update. Cass isn't supposed to be alive, if you killed her.
As many have said, it will most likely be the white "I can fix her" path. Or the green "We can be terrible together" path. Something like equality between the two. Although it's unclear whether this equality will even exist.
Yes, I was responding to a person who indicated her existence after assassination is a bug. That is why I wondered which path I was on for her to be interacting with others the way she is. By which I mean the scenes that are playing out must be from some legitimate path. Glitch happens then switches where to pull up those scenes? Apologies if I'm not making sense to you. The scenes I'm seeing are not supposed to be playing, so I'm wondering from which legitimate paths those scenes are taken. This is what is wild to me: alternate realities of a sort
The scenes are from the green path. It only suppose to happen if you side with Cass in the coup or surrender to her in prison. Otherwise, she's supposed to be dead or your prisoner during that scene.

Thank you, kindly! This is my first playthrough; I adore the scene between Cass and Elis (that I wasn't supposed to see on the red path), so I guess I'll try for the green path next.
I am pretty sure in 0.12 Valerian is going to look at Elis suspiciously but he won't say anything because Elis is the reason he is still alive otherwise he would have been dead in I guess 0.9 or 0.8 update and also look at how his mother get so damn happy when she get to meet Elis, I am sure he won't like his mother to get sad and let her enjoy as much time as she want with the future Emperor and also the father of her upcoming kids
In my opinion, the game clearly shows us that Cass is gradually increasing her power. For example, in one of the scenes in the latest update, Cass says something like, "Half the guards in this room are my men." Or the fact that Cass does some of the main character's work and understands much more about politics.

I wish more characters in AVN's were killable. I respect devs more that allow it as it very few do. As I find LI in AVN's generally feel too safe for me when they are put in a dangerous situation I never have to worry if something bad is gonna happen most of the time.
Because the game and the audience brag about how its a tense Game of Thrones dramatic, with danger lurking in every corner and every character having their own agency conflicting with others, when effectively its a lazy power fantasy in which MC always comes out on top and can always decide to kill or spare a character.
