What?
When did that happened?
It doesn't. Celestine is mad at Sera because she thinks her sister stole her destiny. She was never married to the King or anything like that. Though, it does hint at the fact that she might've intentionally went out there with other elves in Alaina plan and fucked the King before Sera. Hence, Noira and Arion.

Wait, is it confirmed that Celestine's children are half-human? Because without this confirmation, that is a WILD theory.

No, it's not explicitly confirmed. It's still just a theory. Since when asked by Elis, Noira said she doesn't know who her father is. But because Elves rarely ever have black hair, it's assumed that they're half elves. Noira entertaining the idea by mentioning her brother has shorter ears than her. And that maybe she got her black hair from her father too, like Elis. Also, she mentioned never being to the elven village. She and her brother were born outside of it.

However, we know from Sera that Celestine started hating her when she told her that the Dryad prophecy was for Sera. And this was before Celestine left, if the order of events are correct. As Sera also mentioned that Celestine nearly endangered her family and all elves with her actions in the past. Which makes me assume, she's referring to Celestine leaving and joining Alaina plan. Since that's the only thing that would make sense in context.

Apparently, they themselves don't know.
Based on a conversation with Noira, she mentions that her brother has "short ears" and a double-colored hair color, like Elis and Elin. Plus, there's a conversation with Alaina about our father having an affair with an elf before marrying Seraphina.
We can't say for sure that this is true, but there are many things that point to this.

Well, it is just rather heavily implied by Alaina in her 'reveal all talk' with the MC, with her whole bit about other elven girls laying with the prince, and that he "had a favourite."

Then with Celestine being giga pissed-off that her sister has "stolen her destiny." I think it's fair to assume that some fans might put those things as being connected. And that her children are actually going to be Elis's half-siblings. I'm really looking forward to that reveal ngl...:D

Basically, Celestine doesn't hate Sera for stealing her "husband". It was already said by Sera that their issues started with their destiny. The prophecy told by the Dryad also didn't mention anything about marrying the King. So it would be odd anyway for that to be a reason. Especially when the Elves and Humans were still going at it during that period. Not to mention, Sera told Celestine when they were still children. Not after. Which is why Sera tells Elis her sister hated her during their childhood for stealing her destiny.

The order of events are or should be:

- Sera and Celest visit Dryad.

- Sera tells Celest about what the Dryad said. This happened while they were still "children", according to Sera. So it's not tied to the King later.

- Celest decides to leave (We know this happened because Noira and Arion were born outside of the village). She goes to the Human Kingdom in defiance? Alaina gets some elves for their plan to seduce humans.

- Fake Regis is fucking some elven baddies during the expedition like a degenerate. Making bastards with his favorite.

- Fake Regis is sent to prison on the way back after being blamed for his father death. Regis married Sybilla.

- After some time, Regis is killed by Sybilla. Fake Regis and Alaina make a deal to switch his identity to that of his younger brother.

- Alaina decides that bastards won't do with the fact that the real Regis fathered Cass. So instead, they decide to go the legitimate route. Removing all of the previously born bastards. Since it wouldn't make sense anyway. They would be too old.

- Celestine, if she's one of his mistresses, likely doesn't know that the Real Regis died and her former lover, if it was him, is actually the King. Since Alaina made sure to keep it a secret from just about everyone during this period.

- Years later, after "Regis" is older, he married Sera and then Elis and Elin were born.

So basically, unless Celestine knew about Alaina plan with the identity switch. Chances are, she thinks her former lover died in prison and that Regis on the throne is the real one. Meaning, she doesn't even know that Sera is fucking her former lover. And if all of these assumptions above are true, she doesn't hate Sera for stealing her husband. Since they weren't married and she thinks he died in prison.

There might be some errors in the information above. Since I don't have the game installed at the moment. Mostly working off of my memory.

I think what happened was. Celes obviously grew up bitter towards Sera for the whole 'destiny thing' and was eager to prove that she was the 'one' and not her sister. So when Alaina made her plan known of trying to seduce the royals/nobles. I imagine Sera didn't partake, while Celes decided that it was the best moment she was going to get to leave and prove that it was her that was destined for big things. And joined up with her in an attempt to get with the crown-prince. With her essentially going "I'll fucking show you whose destiny it is." to her lovely sister.

- Fake Regis is fucking some elven baddies during the expedition like a degenerate. Making bastards with his favorite.
I'm assuming his favourite was Celes, or why mention he had a "favourite" to begin with. And so she thought she was finally proving that it was 'her' destiny all along and not her sisters. Children with the heir = being obviously an absolute win.

- Fake Regis is sent to prison on the way back after being blamed for his father death. Regis married Sybilla.

- After some time, Regis is killed by Sybilla. Fake Regis and Alaina make a deal to switch his identity to that of his younger brother.

Yeah, so this is the kicker. It's either she wasn't aware of the swap, and is pissed that her plan with 'her prince' didn't work out, and depending on how she felt about him. Upset that her lover died in prison as well (which he obviously did not.) While her sister just got to swoop in and get the 'actual prince.' Which I imagine, will lead to her somehow being even more pissed off at her sister than she usually is if she finds out the truth. For taking the father of her children (potential lover as well), and her destiny along with it for her own. Like I can't imagine her not being mad if she finds out the man she worked hard to get into bed with, and have his children. Only to then be cast aside once you were told it wasn't a good plan anymore by Alaina. And to then just think he died, but have it turn out that he didn't die. He just became someone else, and then the Sister you've been contending with your whole life, just swoops in, marries him and has his 'legitimate' children...She's GOT TO BE PISSED, if she doesn't know and then finds out. :ROFLMAO:

Or she was/is in Alaina's inner circle. And is aware of the swap, and has therefore had some time to come to terms with it. But I think, is still going to be rather bitter about losing 'her man' and her chance at being the one with the big destiny to her sister.

So yes, I think it's not about "stealing her husband" exactly. But the destiny that she thought "that husband" was supposed to be a part of. So losing out on him to her sister would be a rather large issue.

It's basically all subtext and foreshadowing so far, but there's enough of it that I subscribing to it until the text itself proves me wrong.

Shit, it hadn't occurred to me that Celestine wasn't in the loop about the fake Regis plot. If she wasn't and then finds out, she may literally explode.

I'm really hoping she doesn't know, and that she was in fact the "favourite lay" Alaina mentions. It might give us an absolutely TOP TIER CRASHOUT, if it IS the case and we get her finding out about it at some point. :ROFLMAO:

Happy new year btw ladies and gentlemen!

It's been (mostly) fun discussing the game with you guys. Looking forward to seeing it continue into next year. :giggle:

so can cass be trusted with a seat of power? or does her tendency to go a little way off the wagon make her abuse the power?
It's the same question, who's going to betray you, Alaina or Conrad?
Most likely, we will just get the roots where they betray and where they do not betray, which will depend on our choices.

It's likely to be the same with Cass in the green root, if Elis kisses her and impregnates her, she's unlikely to betray Elis. After all, she's not a complete sociopath.
She has tender feelings, but because of her complexes, traumatized childhood, and daddy's issues, she hides them, but this is just a defense mechanism so that she doesn't get hurt. To subdue her, you just need to manipulate her so that she believes that Elis truly appreciates her, cares about her and will not betray her. So that she could see the difference between Elis and her ex.
Also, if you noticed, in red root, when you kill her, she says that she really wanted to rule with Elis, and what's the point of lying to a man on death's door?

And remember, impregnation is like a fireball in D&D - it solves all problems.

You know, it was this moment that made me completely abandon the red path and even delete all the saves on this path.
I initially went green, simply because Cass did not give Elis any reason not to support her, while her father wanted to get rid of Elis. I just didn't see any reason to be a loyalist.

And Cass is literally one of the most well-developed and interesting characters. Killing her means literally abandoning the content.
And white root while not bad, but castrates her charisma. Therefore, it is worth going through both the white and green routes.
