All that is true but I'll disagree on the MC considering himself more elf than human part. That decision seems to be an indicator of who he'll favor.Right? And even if you can't do the "everyone lives happily ever after" bit I refuse to believe the elves wouldn't be willing to side with a pro-elf emperor that considers himself more elf than human (and has stated as much) without causing anarchy and burning the empire to the ground. They'd be FAR better off with that and being integrated back in as a highly regarded member of the new order rather than everything falling apart and leaving themselves open to future conquests and enslavement / extermination from other nations.
It'd be a different story if they still had some sort of significant military strength, but they don't, they're exiles in their own lands and hiding in the bush.
If they were to be integrated into the Empire I think it would be on the choice where he says he doesn't wanna choose between man or elf because he is both. Equality if you catch my drift.
