Probably close to a year, yea. Though once they get everything back in that they want back (shouldn't be but 3 months I'm guessing), they will be able to make much more updates faster just due to having something decent to work with.
Though, they really need to work on optimization first imo. Sure having the sex scenes back is nice, but *man* does it run like crap now, even with basically nothing added yet.
You can thank UE5 for that. Mine struggled to get consistent frames on either the highest or second highest settings, and I don't even have a beefy build.
That's because they haven't set any parameters to make any settings options different from Ultra. So it's defaulting to always use the new UE5 lighting and texture systems, which the devs have yet to do anything to optimize. There is apparently another version on itch where they force certain things off to try to make it run better. Either way, best let it simmer a bit before picking it up again. Give em time to re-implement content and optimize the crap out of it.
I can't open the game because it says the procedure entry point CreateFile2 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

so in the new update, i've noticed that turning down the graphics greatly increases the light when looking around, among other things

Sadly, you're not exactly wrong. They released 2 versions, the "Performance" version and a "Lighter" version. The performance one is ..... intense. I had to lower the graphics just so I didn't have a 2 second lag between what I did and it registering. After a while, my system "caught up" to it and the lag lowered to a reasonable amount (about .5 sec).
The light version, I was able to play on Epic from the get go. There's still a sad amount of rendering issues, where textures take a few seconds to fully render. So it looks like hot shite when you first start playing. As Tgcidolfus mentioned, lower settings allow you to see the darkened areas. For example, you can see inside of Poppy's room from the hallway cam and you can see into the showroom from the admin room.
Things about this update:
- Ari had picture inside the T.V. on opening menu but haven't seen her in the actual nights. Played 1, 10, and 8.
- Left the side door open but Misty never appeared.
- No sign of Maddy
- Girls go away pretty fast so not much drain on sanity even with girls on both windows.
- The plushie is unlimited and Sammy doesn't seem to steal it. Though there are times when she appears in the hall but just leaves without coming to the window, so it might be planned to add this feature back in later.
- No camera inside Poppy's starting room.
- Nile will still move even if you're watching her on camera. Changed from old build.
- The lever in Sammy's room no longer needs to have the two lights pressed first, just flip the lever.
- Nights seem to take longer than old build.
- The porn ads on the computer have returned, and is the only real threat to your sanity if you happen to be looking in cams when they pop up.
- 0 Sanity = instant game over with no jump scare.
- No boob scare/sex game over as of yet.
- Gallery is back and ditches the old system from old build. Instead of tapes, it just tells you what the scene is and you click on it.
- 2 porn ads, 3 Ari scenes, 1 Maddy, 1 Misty, 2 (actually 3) Poppy, 1 Nile/Poppy, 1 Sammy, 2 Sammy/Nile videos are in the gallery. Some from old build, some are brand new.
- You can basically just sit in the room without looking into cameras until either the girls come to the window or you need to fix something. So far super easy.
- The trick to quickly get out of the cams is either changed or gone. Making you click the "x".

Seriously? My luck must just be really bad. It's fine if it's nothing cool, I just want to see it if it's there.
I literally sat through an entire day on day 08 and 10, cleared the day with the door opening as early as 12 am and she never appeared. *sigh* back to the game then...
spamming the plushie on day 10, i got her to attack 3 nights in a row before even midnight.
Also worth noting, the 3rd time i was seeing if keeping the door scene going longer makes it faster/harder (it doesnt) but got a gameover jumpscare during the encounter.
I've been trying to get a look at the latest build with Unreal unlocker but the game crashes and I get a Fatal Error popup every time I try to inject the dll. Anyone else get this?

Where is the download? I have v0.74 and would like to try v0.75
