This game is... immensely different from what I was expecting. It's much more wholesome and complex in terms of character interactions. And I'm really happy about it. I haven't experimented much yet, but I imagine there are several paths the story can take depending on how you handle the situation with Talia and Sylvia. I have to say, though, the swinging that resulted from my choices was phenomenal and very well built through the progressive opening of Syl's character to the whole affair (with her reticence being gradually overcome).
Graphically, it’s not impressive — but it more than does its job thanks to some nice models — and the animations — although they have some small looping issue here and there — are phenomenal; very natural. I really enjoyed them a lot. Some of the sprites, however, could use a bit of improvement, like one of Henry’s where there are white outlines left around the figure, or one of Iris’s, where her closed eyes look quite strange. I think those could be worked on, and in the end, it shouldn't be too complex to replace them, being sprites.
And what can I say about the cast of characters? There wasn't a single one I didn’t like. Iris’ enthusiasm is truly infectious, and I hope her character gets some additional space in future updates, and Henry is best bud material.
Unfortunately, there is a sore point as well: the English. The strange thing is that generally the sentences are well-structured according to English syntax, except for a few adjectives placed incorrectly, but then there are very frequent basic mistakes that any online checker — even one incapable of creating natural syntax — could catch. Missing articles everywhere, and sometimes extra articles where they shouldn’t be; definite articles instead of indefinite ones and vice versa; very abundant spelling mistakes, with doubled letters missing or appearing where they shouldn't. Even many instances where the first-person singular pronoun 'I' is written as 'i'. I think the game script should be put through an online checker to tidy it up, because it wouldn’t take much to make the game impeccable.
Well, best wishes to the dev. I'm looking forward to the next updates.
