This game is so bizarre. The latest (public) update offers the clearly major choice of whether to split up the MC's family and go serve Fiona or stay with Sylvia and Iris serving Talia until the bitter end, yet at no point does the MC even consider talking to his family about the deal. How does that make sense? Given how precarious their current situation is, I would have thought that an obvious top priority, but apparently it's at best something to mention over breakfast the following morning - assuming it even comes up then.
I get that the game has an NTR path, but it's supposed to have a non-NTR path, too. Why is it so hard for the MC to treat Sylvia like an actual partner?

I think it's best read as not a family but she's a girlfriend at best - several times it distinguishes as such. It's still somewhat jarring, yes - but makes a little more sense if they're not viewed as the typical avn incest setup.This game is so bizarre. It's kinda hard to not treat it as a family unit, when there is even a kid involved and a whole family dynamic. Even if obviously said kid had a growth spurt to add her as a future sexual option.
Of course, but I'm sure you know what I mean in that the frequency of full-on incest games skews the view towards something that might be closer than it actually is.

I realize Sylvia isn't the MC's wife, but it's an explicit plot point in this very episode that the MC is part an indivisible family unit. If the relationship is serious enough to limit Talia/Fiona's legal options it has to be more significant than just casual fuckbuddies. So why does the MC never act like that?
I just discovered this game. Is it possible to keep the MC girlfriend faithful while cheating on her, or its like a mutually exclusive road? Such as, if you cheat on her, a guy will steal her, but you keep her faithful to you, you will miss the chance to hook up with other women.
oh indeed I didn't mean to make it sound like they're casual - just the 'family' reference was a sticking point for me.
They're clearly close, and can be thought of as "live-in boyfriend-girlfriend" for all purposes. So yes, I'd expect them to do more talking to each other before big events. I guess I suspended disbelief a long time ago the first time 'porn logic' kicked in, when you kiss mistress (after already having done soft-swinging stuff), and Sylvia ends up blowing Henry while MC is presumably passed out.
As far as the technicalities of the worldbuilding- the text in question is ambigious; Talia mentions: "I had purchased you and Sylvia together as a family unit." suggesting that's a hard and fast requirement, yet then goes on to say "I'm unable to sell you as a family." which is contradicted by Fiona clearly being able to buy them individiually.
You have to have witnessed Sylvia talking to Henry in the kitchen that one night in the manner that he tries to kiss her - it's counterintuitive and reachable only by NOT staying late in Talia's room beforehand, you can go in, but then say no and leave when she invites for more and eavesdrop kitchen.

The game made it pretty clear the the MC could volunteer to be sold separately, though I assume that would effectively end the family unit going forward (since Iris is now of age). Presumably Sylvia could do the same, and I'm guessing that's who Fiona is referring to if you reject her offer and she starts getting vengeful. Hopefully the MC and Sylvia will talk before then and not be blindsided by it, but I certainly wouldn't bet on it.
I agree it's very unclear why Fiona can't just buy both the MC and Sylvia as a unit and be done with it. I guess Fiona might not have the money for two slaves, but that's never mentioned and seems unlikely given how wealthy she appears to be. Maybe Talia was comfortable rejecting the offer for the family on her own, but felt it would be inappropriate to reject the separate offer to the MC directly? That doesn't make much sense to me, but the rules of this society are rather confusing.

Let me settle the debate since I made it
1. World of IHS is based around honor society. Meaning that two people agreeing to something without written world is as sacred as in our world written deal with your finger stamp. That also means that people do not throw deals lightly, it isn't like our modern world where everyone is bullshiting all the time and they have zero consequences. Hey bro if you house will burn down you can sleep with me to rest of your life. In our world you would just roll eyes but in honor society this is different, you treat such promises seriously and people who break those promises live in shame.
To the point. Jack and Sylvia were bought as family because they declared themselves as such at the time. They met 2 years ago and they are less than 2 years together. At any point either Jack or Sylvia can come to mistress and declare that they are not family anymore, moreover they are obligated to do that. Not by court but by their own conscience and adherence to honor.
In this case, Fiona tries to bargain with Jack as she can't buy him from Mistress if he doesn't want it and Mistress can't sell him separately because Sylvia and Jack are considered by her as family unit.
2. If they declare they are family then Mistress can't sell them separately. But in this case Fiona wants to convince Jack to come with her but she can't force him nor Mistress can do that. So jack has to agree to be sold separately. It's protection for slave families and one of the ways in which kingdom finds slavery not morally repugnant. There are other customs and laws regarding slaves but they are not important to ihs story.
3. Roleplay aspect. I, you, we know what Jack would do. But someone else might come to different conclusion based on their understanding of characters, choices they made and how he likes characters. Furthermore you got only a choice to make and consequence of that is not in game as whole ending is not finished yet. No doubt such important decision will have impact of characters in the game.
2 reasons:
Mistress doesn't want to get rid of all servants. She's noble after all and isn't used to cook herself, clean etc.
She technically doesn't pay for them. Henry is helping with her finances in major way which means it would be like trying to sell borrowed car from your friend. In mentioned honor society it is a big no no.
The main reason why Mistress agrees to those talks is that Fiona shared with her what she will propose (aside from few ehhhmmm minor details). From point of view of slave those terms were really great, moreover Mistress would receive in return something.
Basically a win-win for Jack and Mistress if you don't count ambience of relationships in the house. Moreover if Jack would leave house it doesn't mean that he needs to break with Sylvia. Obviously they wouldn't meet much if at all but they could still continue their relationship after their debts would be repayed and in Jack's case according to Fiona his case would be much much faster...
source: I actually designed world for RPG like 10 years ago and it 'grew' over time. RPG was shelved due to being just 1 man and complexity of project but world lives on and will live on in other games, hopefully one day RPG haha.

As one point on (3), it seems like including the e080 variable is too punitive - all the other things involve directly cheating with Talia or seriously angering sylvia. But the E080 variable occurs in a fairly amicable, swinger-type setting.

Well that was certainly an update... can't believe we get left on that though, I'm so curious to see where it'll go from here. I have a few different saves, Sylvia love/swinger save of course, Talia lover save, and now a Fiona servant save. Talia lover path is an interesting one, and I'm really wondering how Sylvia is gonna feel about that.

While it is true that it occurs in rather peaceful manner Sylvia considers earlier occurrences with Jack and Mistress and him having a thing for her (even if player doesn't pursue mistress) and going at mistress then basically confirms it more or less. Just because Sylvia didn't say anything back then it doesn't mean she was entirely ok with it.
Secondly at the time of making the choice to get the ring she was looking for easy way out of moral dilemma. Since they already have pretty open relationship then getting the ring wouldn't be... a big thing no ?
Kind of like you find bilion dollars on street and start to come up with a good reason to not return it. The bigger the deal the harder it becomes to do the right thing.
Sure, but there's a helluva jump there between swapping partners in a group setting and going off on one's own to fuck someone behind their back - I wouldn't even call the first one an open relationship if they're both present.
For sure the shortening of their servitude would be an alluring lure, though I'm not sure I'd call that an easy way out, if it involves fucking someone.... if you loved your wife dearly and someone offered you a billion dollars to cheat on her; certainly not an easy answer. I feel like the average person would be very concerned that jeopardizing their relationship might not be worth a payday.
To extend that analogy further - I'm not sure that having prior attended a few swinging parties with your wife would make that choice any less difficult.
For me either way doesn't matter im only here for the Henry Sylvia (alone) aspect which haven't gotten any lover lately. Its the only heavy hitting part to me at least, the scenes had more impact, the swinging is kinda meh atp. And for anyone wondering there is no content this update just story, if that's what your looking for.
