Man this one hurts a bit.
Overall I think this game has outstanding potential but is still a couple ingredients shy of really hitting that upper echelon of NTR/S games. Starting with the good, this dev blends AI videos with animations more naturally than almost any other game I've seen on this site. There aren't major, jarring jumps from 3d models to nearly photorealistic looking women and these clips serve as great transitions between renders. The production value is also really high; the menus are great, everything looks very clean and thematic. The presentation of this game is just excellent.
I also think the relationship between the two MCs is very well handled. There's clear affection and history, and they have the rapport of people who have believably been in a relationship, which isn't always the case in these games. The FeMC writing is also a highlight, as she navigates most situations with a self awareness and intelligence most don't have in this genre. Even the MC avoids some of the worst tropes of the genre. I love that he doesn't have a micro penis, that he's great in bed, competent at his job and clever enough to think on his feet. Him being underestimated is fine but I do hope there are opportunities to assert himself and gain some respect in the workplace so it doesn't just feel like everyone seems him as a loser, even if he isn't behind the scenes.
Now for some of the things that hold this game back a little in my opinion...
1. Both Routes Cater to Shitty Dudes - As of now you pretty much have a choice between nothing but shitty, disrespectful, two-dimensional tropes with effectively no redeeming qualities. To many people NTR is having the bad guys win and bang the wife when the MC doesn't want it. Some people believe NTS is the MC wanting the bad guys to win and bang their wife, and that's sort of what this interpretation of NTS feels like. I may be in the minority here, but I love NTS and sharing but do not want to share LIs with obvious scumbags. I don't really need or want bad guys at all, and will usually remove them from the story the first chance I get.
I hope there are routes in which NTS can develop with decent people who are attractive and normal, where there's chemistry and relationships that extend beyond characters that exist only to want to fuck the FeMC. Luna is an awesome FeMC and it would be great to have a ton of sharing scenes with her, but I wouldn't want to share an LI with either of these guys. Even Darius shows an insane disrespect towards MC and there feels like too much of a power imbalance. Both of these guys just feel like the #1 and #2 biggest cliches of the genre. The Machiavellian Scumbag Boss is in almost every single one of these games, and they always say and do the exact same things with almost no variation. Even the unnecessarily cartoonish mustache-twirling inner monologues are present, in which they all pretty much boil down to "Ha ha ha, that ass will be mine!" This VN is so far above these amateur tropes, there is already a precedent for well written characters. The other men in this game need a huge overhaul to match the quality of other characters and relationships in the game.
2. Luna's Role in the Narrative is Written as a Walking Blow Up Doll - Almost nobody treats this woman as an actual human and she spends 90% of her screen time as an object within the scene. Cade's whole relationship and pretty much every interaction with Luna amounts to "I want to fuck her." Darius' whole relationship and pretty much every interaction with Luna is "I want to fuck her." Gary's seems like "I want to fuck her." and even Meg, although occasionally having dialogue that feels friendly and natural, spends way too much time explaining how everyone wants to fuck Luna. I know this is a porn game. I know this is an NTRS porn game, but it's not impossible to write a NTRS porn game in which the FeMC has a robust, authentic relationships with those around her that extend deeper than "Their whole existence in the narrative is to want to fuck me"
I think Luna's agency is well handled, and her reactions to these situations is actually a high point of the writing since she is aware of it and isn't painfully oblivious, but the narrative would go a long way making the other characters feel like they have more going on in their lives than waking up to come to work and ogle Luna.
3. Compromising Build Up With Unnecessary Fantasy Scenes - Almost all NTRS enjoyers don't mind a slow burn and really enjoy the tease. It's hard to build up to these climactic moments when we've already seen Luna pounded by both main LIs. Yeah, they're a fantasy, but it's still giving away the visuals of what should be a huge milestone for the experience in a cheap throwaway fantasy. I know the audience needs to be engaged with sex scenes but there are so many other things that could fill this void.
Anyway, I don't want it to come across as me hating the game; quite the opposite. I think this game has incredible potential and there is enough evidence of good writing for me to believe everything can come together well, but I do want to voice these concerns. I might be the crazy guy yelling at a cloud but I imagine I'm not the only one who feels this way. Overall though, incredible work and I'm excited to see where this game goes. With the right care I could see it becoming one of the best in the genre.
