Same here, even if I skipped atemx's first game. This one looks great regarding everything
btw,AtemX is there an exact title you took inspiration from or it's just a mix of isekai? Sry if it was asked before:whistle:
No, there isn't really one in particular. I used to watch a lot of isekai anime a few years ago (I don't have much time anymore), and I really wanted to create a game on that theme because it's an excellent way for a contemporary player like us to insert themselves into a medieval/fantasy world and feel close to the main character. The protagonist naturally asks a lot of questions about the world, which allows the player to discover it along with them, something that wouldn't be possible with someone who grew up in that world.

I've drifted a bit from the original question, but to get back to it: I chose this theme more as a way to help the player integrate naturally into the world, rather than because there was a specific anime/novel I wanted to take inspiration from.

As a person who doesn't watch anime, what isekai would you recommend?
thanks

I'm reading 2 right now. You may pick either of them:
Surviving The Game As A Barbarian
The Archmage's Restaurant

but I recommend to start your journey with
Solo Leveling
It's not an isekai, but this webtoon is a rare masterpiece. An artist died from incurable disease and this webtoon was his attempt to bring some good into our world. The art here it top notch.

If you're alright with reading "manhwas" or "webtoons" I would recommend "The Greatest Estate Developer" :D
I have friends who're into manhwas, but never read one myself. As I understand it, magic and fantasy feature more prominently in manga than in manhwa, am I wrong? Wondering if there are that deal with similar subjects as AlwaysFan, particularly, with couples where the girl does some kind of sexual work for a living (could be streaming, modelling, porn, escorting), keeping it kinky and teasing while avoiding the kind of dark drama that manga often drift to.
Funny, started my Manhwa journey with this one. Now I'm reading >50 in parallel :ROFLMAO:

"Necromancers Evolutionary Traits" would be another good one.
Any good manhwa database with plenty of tags?

These are called "pornhwas" in a roundabout way. There are a lot of these too (for example on "hiperdex") with different settings like "MILF hunting in another world" lol :ROFLMAO:

No database... I'm most of the times browsing the library of "webtoons" or "tapas" or other scanlator sites and look into ones that look interesting. Found some hidden gems there too (for isekai as an example "I became the tyrant of a tower defense game").

choose one.
Guys,I really don't get what you all found there, imho,it's the most overrated thing ever existed. I watched only anime version, but pretty sure manhwa isn't any better. Anyways,we all kinda went ot :HideThePain:
I wouldn't call Solo Leveling a masterpiece too (as there are far better ones in my opinion). It's a good one no question, but no masterpiece. BUT it was the one who got the stone for the hype of manhwas rolling :D

It's trash. It actually starts off pretty good but it quickly spirals into a 12 year old's power fantasy. After a certain point the MC just never faces even a lick of adversity. He just ends up way too OP and the moment any new enemies pop up he's already stronger than them. Totally misses the adversity character and strength building that pretty much any power level manga has.
Can't speak for the web novel though, that one might be better.
Plus the whole thing's pretty much just an edgier rip off of The Gamer, which aside from the garbage ending was a much better manwha.

This is the problem. You need to read webtoon, because anime is very cheaply animated and not even close in quality of art in comparison to webtoon
I watched it for nearly one minute, then closed the window and never back again. It's literally painful to watch this anime after webtoon. The quality is night and day

Just finished playing the game recently and I liked it a lot. I just wasn't expecting to see a seikon no qwaser reference in this game lol. Dev is a man of culture.
