Maybe, but there's plenty of excellent games out there without animations, or with the cheap 2-frame looping kind. I may be partial but I value a good story and nice models over animations, IMO they should come last in the list of priorities. At the end of the day it's up to the developer how they spend their time and animations take a LOT of time and effort, and that assuming you have suitable hardware and the know-how to make them worth it in the first place.

Also, nothing prevents you from contacting a developer and lending a hand

No amount of animation quality can save your scenes if you can't write proper sex talk.
