Posting comments which rip on that thread's specific developer while not providing any substantive feedback for improvement is a fantastic way to motivate them to work harder and is not at all discouraging and demotivating. Instead of saying "moar stuffz" (which isn't substantive at all), my personal recommendation for 17MOONKEYS would be to focus on a single game at a time. Some developers can handle more than one, but it's not most. If the updates for each game are small, it would generally be preferred by most players to have larger updates on a single game until that's finished. Then move on to (or in your case, continue) the next game, and so on.

and what's this about not being able to save/skip? that's blatantly forcing players to replay every new update hoping they wouldn't notice the lack of content.

I think that's a bad misread on what's happening here. It's something specific to tablet users. If the intent were as you describe, it would be absent from the PC version as well. It is there still on PC. It was a misguided stylistic choice that should be reversed, yes. But if it's an effort to "blatantly forc[e] players to replay every new update", it's a very poorly executed one. Otherwise, it would affect more than tablet (and maybe phone?) users specifically.

This is actually very often unnecessary, even with rewriting. This may just mean that you're not as used to developing in Ren'Py. For things you can do to ensure save compatibility (except in extreme cases), you may want to consult this guide: https://f95zone.to/threads/how-to-variables-and-save-compatibility.16011/

Beyond that, there are things you for sure can do to aid the creative process so it's not so haphazard as to constantly require a restart. Storyboarding, for instance, can do wonders for this type of thing. These are only suggestions, of course, but I would encourage you not to dismiss them out of hand. You are not the first creative person to struggle with this type of thing, so the experience of those who came before you (I'm not talking about myself) could help you a lot.

So, these restarts that we have to do are because you are changing the story constantly and maybe adding new art? I have noticed changes in the past but, I wasn't sure this is the reason for having to start over all the time. If this is the reason then that is great. It's like starting a new game. As I've said before, I love your storywriting and the suspense you put into your game. The art is also super. Thanks for listening.
