Crow said towards the end of October, whether that has changed is something that I can't tell you. The good bit of news that I can give you is that us testers are actually getting a test build tonight to test out the LLM features. Normally the test versions come a little less than a week prior to official release but I recon that this testing period will last significantly longer than normal due to the nature of how complicated LLM could be.

Are you allowed, as a tester, to say like… how is it? Both the AI convo portion and the new sex system or whatever.

I do kinda worry that the LLM stuff is going to make things super complicated and slow development. But it’s a really cool concept so maybe worth it? Idk

It sounded to me like the AI stuff was complimentary to the game's systems and would be using them rather than have everything based on the LLM portion.

Unfortunately I had to pull out of the testing myself as I had nothing but struggles getting it to run with my AMD PC and the online versions that are included are just too slow right now for (should be solved soon with a new custom server). Other testers have managed to set it up just fine and I don't see any major complaints from them yet. Set up may be a bit complicated at first but Crow will write an tutorial for it and once that's settled it shouldn't be too hard.

Additionally Crow is also looking into an option to have a private Patreon hosted LLM server for those that can't run it on their PCs so more info on that once it releases.

Mind you, AI is completely an optional feature and game will continue functioning as normal without AI if someone has no interest in it.

As for the new sex system, can't give any info on that just yet as the build we've got doesn't include the new sex system as the priority is testing the LLM which is still yet to be made functional with the new sex system. Last but not least, when I asked Crow about the release he did say that he feels like we're still on track for an release towards the end of the month.

TYVM for the info. That’s kinda what I meant by saying I hope the AI stuff doesn’t slow dev of everything else - even though it’s “optional” I can still see it sucking up a bunch of GC’s time.

Ultimately though, I’m just happy to be involved! Hah. After I get through first-of-month bills, I think I’ll donate a bit. Totally worth it for the mileage I’ve already gotten out of this game!

From my understanding it shouldn't slow down development of other features as from what I've seen AI itself is feature complete, right now it's on the system itself to develop itself further the more it learns, i.e Crow has requested a specific file from Testers that we get while testing so he can put it into the game immediately and have it even further developed at the start.

Outside of the sex system & AI that are coming into the next update there are still a few other neat minor changes coming too that I'm sure you guys will like.

Sometimes when you randomly roll a character, they give you much higher total base stats than your allowed number of points, which is why the "points left" is negative. You can lower stats to balance it back, but you can't increase anything until you have a positive point value.

Any news for upcoming update's date? I know it's a HUGE one but damn how long it have been 6 months? Maybe more, I'm kinda curious about new AI system and reworked sex animations...

We've got this from Discord and in terms of us Testers we were told that the next version we're getting will be the pre-release one. Usually that means it's super close to release (~2-3 days from when we get the version)

It's usually a 1 week inbetween patreon and public. From what I've seen during latest releases people generally managed to endure that week and imho 1 week is more than fair of a waiting time to get the free version especially considering that nothing is paylocked in the game.

I can't use discord nowadays, sadly it banned in my country for some sort of crime acts and Golden Crow is pretty bad about inform people on patreon or in here but at least he doesn't sell dreams or milking people

It's not just Patreon or here, GoldenCrow in general isn't very active on social medias hence why you don't hear much from him. He is indeed not doing too good at communicating but it keeps him focused on development. Even on Discord you'll only see him around when he has some updates to share or needs to communicate with the testers.

I swear, Patreon needs to be on trial for crimes against humanity. They even forced one dev i follow to change a lot of stuff recently, so it's not just a thing of the past either. I hope you know what you're doing, staying with them.

Well, to be fair, right now Influencing doesn't have many excuses left for them to blackmail Crow.

Crow moved release date to 15.11 for patrons, and a week later for everyone else. And now there's a new incentive to be a patron - you'll be able to use his private AI server, since local AI didn't perform well. You'll still be able to use it though.

Hello my friends! I hope everything is fine with you!

We just completed our first round of testing on the AI features in Influencing! And let me tell you, it was very enlightening, to say the least. Watching the testers interact with the LLM—not only in-game but also outside of it—and seeing their frustrations, made me rethink how I’ll introduce this feature to you all.

So, in the past few days, I’ve been working hard to bring something special to our Patreon supporters. The result is: we’re setting up our very own AI server! This means that Patrons will be able to play with a private AI server hosted by me.

Initially, all Patrons will have access to the server, but I’ll be monitoring the quality/cost ratio. If it becomes unsustainable, I may restrict access to higher-tier Patrons until we find a balance that ensures the server is fun and functional for everyone.

With this setup, there will be one last delay for the release. But now, I finally have a date! The next Influencing update will be on 15/11/2024 for Patreon supporters, and one week later for the public!

So, to sum it up, the next update will bring improvements to the sex system, the introduction of AI, the ability to add custom families to the city, and some other small adjustments. This will be the last major update of this season. Future updates will be shorter and take less time, as these big updates tend to stress me out for various reasons.

And just to clarify the AI options: you’ll be able to use local AI, AI Horde (which didn’t perform well in tests...), and, if you’re a Patron, you’ll have access to our AI server with a roleplay-specialized LLM. For now, I won’t be adding connectivity with other external AIs due to the potential issues it could bring.

50$ montly for private server for better AI ( the standart probably ), yeah sounds like a robbery. Looks like even this project start paywall tactics. It's not 1 time thing u need to pay constantly like u're paying to a service. Even serviceses like these have more than one project like xbox game pass, playstation game pass, amazon prime, netflix etc. If we should rate this on 50$ per month on 100, i will probably go to minus numbers. b... but he needs to earn money guys I bet some modders pop out and make a better community AI than Crow, I hope he won't ban those AI s.

You should stop creating fake scenarios in your head… The post is clear. He's providing an AI server for Patrons who can't host it locally. It’s probably the same AI you can run on your own if you have a decent PC. Besides, the AI isn’t even necessary to play the game. Are you new to the overall Influencing concept? The dev is focused on making a game as accessible as possible for everyone, even for people who play on their phones. That’s the main idea that Crow always emphasizes when discussing the game.
As for the release date, this is the first time he’s set a specific date, so there hasn’t been any delay.
