Not at all, unfortunately Ren'Py engine is not the best choice for the games of this caliber due to performance reasons which is why he decided for such a drastic move as Godot will give him a lot more freedom with some of the ideas he has.

I personally always thought it's hard to "remake" stuff, because you create nothing, you redo everything that's already expected to be. Whereas creating new stuff leaves it new even to the creator himself, keeping up the enthusiasm. That's why i also dislike planning content, because it gets boring to just materialize what i already imagined many times in my head, and it just becomes a tedious execution. It's like a necessity - to manipulate your own subconscious mood.

Then again, people are different. Sure hope Golden Crow doesn't work the same way, and was just hardcore grinding that Influencing 2 into existence.

Godot aren't really the best engine for such indie open world game, that requires a lot of work to safely construct the game. Honestly Unity would be a much safer and well polished option.
