Excellent - items! Will I need a Scroll of Identify to unlock my "Superior Charming Earhoops of the Succubus", or can I just talk to an old man in a grey robe? And what is the droprate of "Greater Elemental Passions" needed for crafting the +2 bustier? Will much farming be involved? :ROFLMAO:
Whoa, whoa, no need for a grotesque. It's not about the item and inventory system. And there's, uh... damn, I can't say too much (spoilers), but... Let's just say there will be a moment in the next update that I wanted to make memorable, also because Selene could get some sort of (wearable) item after it. That was pretty much played out in the original draft version. But then there were problems with it not really fitting in with the current clothing system (code and other stuff). So I put the idea aside. And I redid that part of the draft. Left only the plot hook for the future. In case I needed it.

Selene will have some things leftover from past events, though. Like that goddess statuette, she might have brought with her. There will be more.

More customization options and portraits would be nice even if they're all cosmetic and don't affect gameplay.

Nice isn't always the right thing to do. Especially if it creates a bunch of non-obvious complications. Right now, you can count on something like this:
  • As Selene's dress has become worn out, she'll soon have to change it.
  • The only option available to her is that white tunic Iolanta lent her.
  • Obviously, one tunic isn't enough.
  • Especially since it is a short tunic (very short, most of her legs are exposed). And this is in a society where the usual underwear is simply not existent.
From this I'm assuming Selene will also need some:
  • A decent long dress, for the road and the city. Sort of like the one Iolanta wears when traveling.
  • A sturdy leather tunic, or even a light armor option. Specifically for travel or action.
  • A rich, highly decorated dress. Maybe even with jewelry.

This would be much more convenient for me to work with than adding customization options to each outfit, and even including descriptions for all possible variants. After all, if you, players, will have free costume customization, I will have to manually and always write all possible descriptions in each such scene. This is a text game, not a VN. Here I have to describe with unique words everything, including any action. Everything.

So no, for now, I'm leaning towards a general outfits system rather than free customization. Which is exactly what was originally planned. Before I got some "bright" thoughts in my head.

Everything above is just my plans and thoughts, not promises. A lot can change when it comes to working on them.

When can we expect the new update coming? Just want to ask because it's a bit of a long wait.
*Sigh*

I'm a little tired of this question. Especially if you think I know the exact date myself. On my Patreon you can track the whole epic of this update, how it went from the expected 300 pages, first to 600 and then to 900. With lots of all sorts of hints, my thoughts, frank (perhaps even too frank) descriptions of the difficulties encountered, etc.

The draft of the update is being converted to the game now. There are a couple more months to go. At the end of each month, I will announce the playable part of the update, and when it reaches 100%, the episode will go out first to the patrons and two weeks after to the public.

Just in case, since I haven't posted here in a while.

I'll try to finish 1.8 to the end of May. I know, I know, “we've heard that before.” But now, this is different! “Yeah, we've heard that, too.” No, but it's really different now, since the draft is actively being integrated into the game. And integration and testing is the last phase before any update is released. So, one way or another, the update isn't too far away now. Well, relative to its creation time, of course.

I know once it comes out its going to be Peak.
I hope so. No, seriously, this really worries me. Too much time and effort are put into the next episode. It would be really sad if people didn't like it. Maybe I'm worrying for nothing. And, largely because of that, I want to release this update as soon as possible. Just to finally know the answer.

Good thinks usually take it´s time to be done. Between Fast and Fine, I have clear what´s my " F" of choice

I am starting to lose faith in this project.

I don't think the dev is milking anyone or being deceitful but I think that undertaking an update that is three times the size of your game to date is a major failure of project management. Particularly this soon into the game. Particularly with the dev's rather limited track record. When we blew past the first few deadlines and the dev suddenly realised that he needed to actually playtest the thing for bugs a whole load of red flags went up.

Again, I don't think that the dev is being dishonest in any way but going silent for months on end and then writing thousands of anguished words about how it's just going to be a few more months? Not good signs.

Okay. That was weird.

First off, not 3x the game, but 3x any other update.

Secondly, where was I “silent for months”? On my Patreon, posts reports at the end of literally every month. Detailed. Not a single month was missed. I even reply to people here and on other sites.

Third, I've always tested everything myself. And I'm testing everything myself now. What did I “suddenly realised” there, m-mm? Moreover, I never forced or even asked anyone to do anything. I just shared my thoughts that with such a big update, I could probably (probably!) use some help. And that was just in my last post on Patreon at the end of March. In which I had apparently been “silent for months”.

Let me tell you a little story a bit. There is this gay vn game on this site that a lot of people love. The update, however, can took about 4-6 months, and sometimes without even a sinlge update between months. But no one complain or lose faith in the game because the game had been consistently got updated around 3-4 months for 2 years. Nobody asked question or complain because we know, we'll be getting the next update around May-July, and the updates had always been substantial.

What I am trying to say is, this game is fairly "new" so the trust is not yet established, so it's normal for people, especially newcomers, to not have much faith in this game. I am not saying you should post updates often, but it's just normal for people to react that way, in this situation, so don't let it get to you too much.

I'll concede the point with regards to the silence... Meanwhile, it's 9 months since the last update and it will apparently have been 11 months by the time we see the next one. Clearly, something has come off the rails. This is why the dates keep slipping further and further into the future.

As I said, I don't think that you're being dishonest here but I think that you have clearly bitten off way more than you can chew.

As for the testing stuff, I don't know what you are talking about. I never mentioned anyone else doing any of the work on your game. I merely mentioned that the testing stuff suddenly appeared because for months you were talking about pages and then suddenly it was like 'Wow... there sure is a lot of testing' so it seemed like it came as a surprise to you.

Interesting that you latched onto the suggestion that someone else do the work for you and interesting that you should be so angry about my personal loss of faith. I'm nobody... why do you care? Did I maybe strike a nerve?

Right. There's the guy who does games about sucking off futanari and licking women's feet and he has two games on the go at once, each game gets an *annual* update and nobody complains because the guy sticks to his dates and has a track record of not only hitting his schedule but finishing multiple games.

Dev is a really great writer but we're on update... what... 4? and the wheels have come completely off the bus. Meanwhile every update is 'boy I sure am working hard... it'll be another couple of months' combined with furious anger and 'people are being mean to me in the comments' whenever anyone raises questions.

"the wheels have come completely off the bus", " with furious anger" :ROFLMAO:, 'people are being mean to me in the comments' - Yeah, I'm beginning to see where the "creative" in your nick comes from.

Still more entertaining than the trolls complaining about the presence or absence of their favorite/abhorred tags, but only barely.

But why do people presume that their faith or lack thereof in a project is of any interest to anyone else, that's worth posting about? It's like reading posts from those dudes who mistake threads for airports and feel the need to announce their departure. No one but them cares about that.

This is especially silly when the whining is rooted in nothing but ignorance, like claiming the dev has been silent for months while in reality they provide regular updates on how the work is going.

You probably strucked a nerve when you made a baseless accusation of him being silent for months, when a simple glance at this forum would disprove that. So next time before making such an accusation, do at the very least check it so that you don't make yourself look like just another troll.
