I've got to second this. While I am personally very into the rape fantasy stuff myself, and I do agree that a lot of the time in games it could be done as a toggleable option, sometimes, as in this case, I think it's too baked into the basic premise.

As I said in a prior comment, I think this game isn't focused enough on the non/dub-con. Almost all of the encounters have easy, almost magical escape buttons. In order to experience the rape stuff this game is pretty much centered on, you already have to opt in. It's not fun for someone like me, who wants that illusion of no control that a good rape fantasy gives you. A lot of it comes down to framing, but it's kind of not rape fantasy, really, whenever you have that escape button.

Hell, even running out of Willpower just means you go home, not that you can no longer resist the various advances. All the stuff that was added to the waitress job is purely consensual, and there are no penalties for denying customers or telling them off for groping you. It feels very strange given the world the dev wants to set up here.

If anything, this game needs to sort out it's identity. I wonder if it playing it safe with the rape fantasy despite the premise is due to Patreon's rules? I don't know. I hope the dev sorts it out, though: commit to the premise and the setting, ditching Patreon if needed, or rewrite things and make a game that's as consensual as Patreon requires.

He's not complaining about it, I don't think you need to make it optional, if anything he's saying that the game doesn't feel rapey enough. I tend to agree with him too, that right now you, as the player, need to opt in to anything bad happening, there's nothing forced on you, no penalty or problem avoiding everything and making money even dodging every advance is easy so you never miss rent without actively trying to fail.

Edward is correct. The way you have things now it is all optional! I don't want it optional, I want it enforced. Make the non-consensual sex actually non-consensual, you know?

But make the game you want to make, first and foremost. This is simply my take on what you'd need to do to make a game that's built on the premise of universal free-use of women (in other words, men can use women -- rape them -- whenever they want with no consequences) into a game that actually resembles that premise.

Well, maybe some consequences, but not for the rape. Rape a woman in the street? Public indecency! Rape the waitress? Her boss gets mad at you and kicks you out...or charges you for her 'time' if the cafe isn't busy? Following me here?
