Hello, witches and wizards!
We’ve prepared a fresh batch of news for you: we’ll tell you what tasks have been implemented recently, what’s currently in progress, and what’s the plan for the next development cycle.
Let’s begin, as always, with the art preview (available in the next post).
This work-in-progress artwork features Moaning Myrtle in her usual haunt, but today she looks much bolder than usual. Looks like she’s wearing her house skirt (if you can call it that) and a rather revealing top. The open back, thin straps, and shoulder frills give her look an unexpected sexiness and hotness. Besides, Myrtle clearly isn’t wasting any time—she’s warming herself up ahead of the meeting, showing off all her best assets in a new, spicy, and definitely hot angle. Please note - on this artwork she has a solid body, however, this will change when this art is added to the game, and she’ll have her usual ghostly appearance.
And now, to the main news!
Summer is in full swing, and the development of Innocent Witches continues. Some of the team is enjoying the summer days and recharging their batteries, while the other part is working on the next patch for the game — 0.12B.
At the moment, we’re working on implementing new features and fixing tasks from a specially designated list — the backlog. While working on the main patch content, the team regularly comes up with new ideas, improvements, and edits, which can distract from the main development process. To avoid losing focus, we log all such things into the backlog, where they wait their turn. The backlog also includes your feedback, comments, and suggestions, which we carefully study and take into account when planning future updates.
Finally, the backlog also contains more technical tasks, such as optimization and code refactoring. While such changes are usually invisible to players, they play a key role in the project’s development. These improvements allow us to build a more flexible and robust architecture, which is easier to scale and expand in the future. Thanks to this, we can implement new features faster, improve performance, and generally increase the game’s quality.
Here are some of the tasks completed recently:
Since Cho Chang received a full-body artwork, we added various undressing states to her dialogue portrait in the scenes where she appears and talks to Marcus.
When starting the game through chapter selection, beginning with Chapter 6 of Act 1, it is now possible to choose the completion status of Ginny’s quest. For players who have already completed this quest, this will allow them to immediately unlock her scene and interactions without having to go through the entire quest chain again.
The comments that Marcus used to say in the mornings about the mysterious fan now occur less often, and once the final comment is reached, they disappear altogether. As a result, the amount of repetitive information about this quest has been significantly reduced.
It is now possible to interact with Minerva again in the office while she is in her cat costume or with the golden dildo. When summoning Minerva during the day or evening, you can now arrange a meeting with her and then show who’s in charge at Hogwarts! This change is part of a larger task aimed at adding the ability to replay interactions with characters that were previously only part of story events.
Prefects can now be found near the entrance gates of Hogwarts between classes and on weekends. You can interact with them and get informal comments similar to those available when summoning them to the Headmaster’s office. This is also part of a larger task focused on reusing existing character miniatures at locations and adding them to free-roam location visits.
Galleon gains and losses during game events now occur via a special screen, similar to the one shown when clicking on the gold pouch in the Headmaster’s office.
After reaching a certain stage in the bedroom scene with the elf maid, it is now possible to invite her to visit Marcus at night, either through interacting with the bed (not only at night) or via the option when calling her to the office. There’s also an option to lure her with cookies by leaving them on the bed.
Finally, we also completed other tasks, such as fixing additional bugs submitted by players, correcting text errors, and other improvements.
The next sprint (10 days) will also focus on implementing selected backlog tasks and improvements. Among them — fixes for some specific bugs in Ginny’s quest, making it possible to freely visit the library, expanding the pool of students who can appear there, and fixing other bugs and implementing various features. More details about these tasks will be shared in the next news post. After finishing this batch of tasks, we’ll start actively implementing the main planned content for version 0.12B.
That’s all for today, friends! We deeply appreciate that you continue to stay with us and support the development by donating and leaving your feedback. Thank you so much!
We’ll meet again very soon in the next news update. Until then, take care of yourselves and don’t forget to enjoy life!
Peace to everyone ✌
Yours,
Sad Crabs. ✨
And now, time for a poll!
In one of our recent polls, we asked whether you prefer focusing on relationships with a single waifu or getting closer with all the prefects (and more) at once. The overwhelming majority voted for having interactions with other characters while also getting closer to your favorite prefect.
One of the features in patch 0.12B will be the updated minigame with Hermione. Initially, we planned to make this minigame available only if she is your waifu in the current playthrough. However, there were also suggestions to make it available even if Hermione is not your waifu. At the moment, we’re leaning more toward the first option (when Hermione is your waifu).
The main argument for this decision is that the last few chapters — especially Chapter 3 of Act 2 — are heavily focused on bonding with the chosen waifu. So a minigame where our waifu agrees to strip and do other things for Marcus feels much more natural and appropriate, as we've already gone through that “getting closer to each other” step in the story.
On the other hand, this approach limits minigame interactions with the other prefects. Still, this limitation seems quite justified. For example, if we’ve had fights and reconciliations with Hermione through the chapters, and then built a deeper connection that led to her being more open to sexual interactions, it would feel strange if we could then simply call in another prefect, like Daphne, and convince her to strip without any build-up. Let us remind you, we’re only talking about the availability of the minigames with the prefects — either available for all four prefects at the same time or only for the chosen waifu.
Lastly, the so-called "harem" route, in which we get close with as many characters as possible, has already been discussed many times within the team — and everyone is in favor of adding it to the game eventually. However, at this stage of the story, it seems more logical to focus on content specific to each prefect within the waifu/non-waifu context.
So, what do you think?
Is it a big deal for you that minigames will only be available with your chosen waifu? Or do you not really mind other prefects also doing sexual stuff for Marcus in the context of the minigames without the kind of story build-up that a waifu gets? Let us know by voting or leaving a comment below. Thanks!
- I’m fine with minigames being available only for the waifu. That makes sense.
- Minigames can be available for other prefects too, just create a proper story lead-up for the minigames.
- I don’t really care. Minigames can be available for everyone without any lead-up, waifu or not.
- I want to see the voting results.
