You pick your waifu when you start a fresh chapter. As far as game progress, yes, it's annoying in the sense you have to do minigames etc to get back to exactly where you are.
We haven't ever thought of a good way to support old saves, and it's one of the downfalls when you start getting deep into renpy.

I don't mean to be rude, especially since the dev for this game is active on the forums, but is the video on the front page really all of the scenes that the game currently has?
isnt that because of spaghetti code as opposed to renp'y? plenty of games have no problem carrying saves between updates, most of those that dont, is because every update modify code that was from an earlier version.
the simpler fix would be to streamline the code and make it so new updates build upon earlier stuff, instead of modifying them.

I havent played this game for some time and i have questions regarding two things.
In the walkthrough i can see that there are two plots now? New plot and old plot? Whats the deal with new plot an old plot? Can i only chose one. Sorry if this is self explanatory once you start the game but i havent had time yet.
Second question is regarding the waifu chosing. Whats different when chosing one particular girl? Do i miss out on scenes when i chose Hermione for example? If yes, which is currently the "best" one (in terms of most content/best content)? Or is that more of a "flavour" thing and i can still see the other scenes?

The old plot and new plot will become one in the future.
They have a new game writer. He has his way to develop the plot.
You will eventually end up on the new plot, it's disjointed at this exact moment. If you are skipping the text, it honestly doesn't matter.
