Liked this game until i saw the creator responds to feedback. They basically refuse to accept that their game is annoying and tedious and now is going to make it a " patrons only " game. Okay dude thats cool, ill wait until someone eventually does pirate your game to here lmao. and no you didnt mess up showing your game off this early. yes people want horny games and want to jerk off. you messed up by basically telling the main portion of people wanting to play your game " the horny people " to fuck off cuz this isnt a horny game its going to be and "real" game. Whatever man you do you but Sex sells and you being an ass hat to people doesn't. And this is creative feedback to try and help you build a bigger audience but seeing how you take feedback i already suspect you'll delete this post.

The only reason we only know of this game is F95zone.
Dev threw a tantrum tho, what a shame. Looked really promising, but I'll be taking down my review as I do not support the tirade you went on.

Nothing against an RPG, but let's be honest, 80% of us never play these games for the plot or character development.
The sex scenes are pretty damn...weak, right now - if you forgo remastering them to be actually enjoyable in favour of more dialogue, that'd be a huge mistake IMO.

Antipiracy systems like any other protection, only reduces the amount of hackers but doesn't stop them from cracking the game anyway. You can only help honest people stay honest but I would seriously want the dev to skip the whole idea about protecting the game and focus on the development as of right now. Big companies focus on protection because publisher tells them to do so, but your publisher is people on patreon who are supporting you and I bet they want more of the game instead of less but with protection. No offense meant.

And just like that you lost all the respect I had for you.
Sad when ego takes over.

look, he don't need our respect. Let him take care of his patreon and see himself how people would react to his plans on the game. And I don't see anything wrong with the answer, it's short and unclear but I think he understand what he wants in the end.
I might join his patreon some time later, but right now I simply can't put money into current build, feels too early. I have trust in dev but can't really put my money onto it at the moment. I'll gladly join his community to keep up with updates tho.

Captivity is considered to be masterclass because there's so much effort put into the animations - the movements, the expressions, the grunts and noises. This is even reflected in something as simple as the walking and run animations; in Captivity, you step to a halt after running for any distance. But of course, running details aren't what the majority of players are here for:

...

Every animation that Captivity has oozes with personality and style: eyes roll and glance and stare, mouths grimace or hang open in silent screams and moans, hands grab and push and hold. Despite only being a series of pixelated puzzle pieces rotating along set variables, the player and the enemies feel ALIVE and the multi-stage animations feel weighty and full of consequence. Cave Party has basic elements in place, but it's missing that panache and the polish that Captivity's animations have.
This was actually a super interesting write up, and helps me make sense of why Captivity was 10x hotter for me than the average game on this site despite such a basic and low res art style. Cheers!

Patreon Content:
Work on v0.0.6 being done

Animations look a bit scuffed and will get improved later. I will release a test version for combat before November ends, but there will be no sex scenes. Still cannot give you dates for v0.0.6 release, but...

I left my irl job and now have a lot more time to spend developing Cave Party, so hopefully it'll all go faster from this point

Oh no... bro, he's only earning 300 dollars per month, i'm not sure if that's enough for a living
Unless he's living in some country where the conversion rate for USD is insanely high, it 1000% isn't enough no matter how frugal you are. If I had to guess, it's just a temporary thing until he finds a new job.

Or maybe he just found a sugar mama to support him, who fuckin' knows.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to have a game that's actually worth playing beyond watching some pixels bump uglies. However...
I agree, but the content you put out is the shit that cultivates your audience. You put out porn and nothing else, you're gonna get coombrain audience. You put out sophisticated writing and nothing else, you're gonna get pretentious shitheads. It's just how the world works. If you want people to care about more than the pixels boning each other, you have to give people a reason to care which the dev obviously hasn't(though that'll seemingly change with stuff like combat being added).

People can like something akin to Karryn's Prison or Tower of Trample even disregarding the porn because the gameplay mechanics are good enough to stand on their own. Same goes for any visual novel/text-based game on this site that has meaningful writing. What is there to like about Cave Party outside of porn? The boring waitress experience? Being able to pick up items pointlessly?

What I'm getting at is the dev shouldn't be abrasive towards people expecting sex, when the only enjoyable content currently in the game is sex. Picking up empty bottles ad nauseam isn't enjoyable, so people aren't going to play for that; Yet it's the only other thing to do in the game.

Download:

Changelog:

This version isn't a full v0.0.6, but rather a small piece that briefly showcases new mechanics. Important to mention, it has NO sounds and NO sex scenes.
