only good thing about Covid haven't been able to smell anything stinky for like a year or 2 unless it's fucken horrible. My dog farts all the time I can only smell it some of the time. While everyone else I live with always smell it lol , I do my best to try but nothing haha.

So as I was text skipping through the error-filled mess that was this update (I assume because I used a mod in the past on my previous saves) I got treated to what I assume was a recap of a date Emily had or something.
Now if I recall correctly (and it was admittedly a very long time ago) I didn't want anything to do with her in the past and didn't give a shit if she went on dates, but why are we being shown this shit?
Having no interest in her means having no interest.
Saying I don't care if she goes on dates then showing her getting railed by some twat with even more tattoos than the MC seems like it's just a way for the dev to cater to the NTR crowd without actually having to brand the game with the NTR tramp stamp because "Oh, well you said you don't care so it's not really NTR since you aren't dating her".

Just you wait until your dating Melissa while having dinner with Emily/John and Iris/Erynn. That means someone from each couple has fucked someone from another.
And on the alexis path it is a great scene with lakeyn if you had the mc choose not to have sex with lakeyn.

If anything does come of this, I fully expect it will be a (probably quite awkward) one-off. Certainly not anything ongoing as a throuple relationship.
I find most of this to be inaccurate for my playthrough. I've not completed them all yet, but I have done most of my saves now and not had to restart a single one. I just have Nikki and Erynn left, and I'm halfway through Valeria, which (like the others) has run flawlessly from my previous save.
Nyx is a she, not a he, and I don't see that she's caused herself any extra work that wouldn't normally be caused. Any game like this is going to keep growning because of the choices you can make. It's not a problem here, IMO.
The story is called Intertwined for a reason. The relationships the MC can have are all intertwined with each other. Once you get that aspect of it, of course Lakeyn is part of Alexis and Layla's family. It almost makes less sense that she wouldn't be, in game terms.
It's only opinions, but mine is definitely not the same as yours here. I don't feel the Miri or Lakeyn sections dragged the game down in the slightest. The Miri bit was maybe unexpected and maybe a bit weird, but there's nothing new with bringing in new characters and potentially new LIs, if that's going to be more than a one-off.
As for general issues, outside of a handful of typos and one or two missing renders, the only issue I have found in any of my playthroughs is the one that's already been spoken about - on a non-Alexis save, the meeting with Lakeyn at the pizzeria is cold, and MC walks off as if there is bad blood between him and Alexis, even though scenes before and after don't reflect this. It seems like a bad trigger is used, perhaps, so it shows the scene where you've broken up with Alexis, even if you never got together with her.
You get the option to view or skip that scene, so that's on you, really.
Honestly, such a viewpoint registers as almost incomprehensible to me since from my PoV the path of least resistance in such a situation with someone I deeply care about in a romantic way and a third party I care about just as deeply in a friendship way would be to try my best to make a poly relationship work, assuming ofc the other parties are onboard with this, precisely because I care a lot for both. I would find the perspective of potentially losing a partner or a friend because I cannot bring myself to share and deal with my jealousy and possessive issues much more harmful and self-destructive for all parties involved. I would be deeply disappointed by myself if I would find myself agreeing with the opposite stance. Admittedly, this comes from the perspective of a borderline aro that finds romantic and friendship relations almost indistinguishable except for the labels others with a different mindset may put on the bond and ofc the potential of sexual intimacy with someone I find attractive.

Ran a route where I dated Alexis until the pizzeria and then didn't help her (I didn't pick the nuclear option here, but I didn't help her carry the groceries which is Alexis exit #100 or something). It's weird because they talk about talking later and then never do. I then went for Erynn (I picked Erynn over Layla at the Heaven club to stay friends with Layla without having to do drastic stuff to get off her romantic route) and apparently this skips ever having MC explain to Erynn about Alexis. Jumped on Val's route but thanks to being off of Alexis, it's a mess. I'm also dating Cara for charity work, haven't broken up yet. I'm currently at the Erynn/Val choice for the beach date in ep 13.
It's been an interesting ride. Being on Alexis's breakup route seems to really affect Val scenes (no head scratches, no ep 11 beach). He also doesn't call her after she helps him with Ethan. I didn't understand why until I looked at the walkthrough and it's tied to the Alexis route, which is confusing. Cara is just kinda there, not really interacting with the plot.

I mean, agreed. I wasn't gonna involve Nikki in this nonsense path I'm running. She gets solo route treatment where I go scorched earth on everyone else.
Of course, but this cannot stop myself from being deeply disappointed with the characters, the story, and the Dev if this turns out to be the case. Unfortunately I am not even in the same neighborhood of having the technical and more importantly the creative skills to accomplish what you describe. Admittedly, however, I know enough to be able to keep manipulating the variables to make the story turn out the way I would prefer, as far as the script would allow and I deem the effort worthwhile. This being done with no second thought whatsoever except practical feasibility concerns because I deem my own playing fun and satisfaction orders of magnitude more important than anyone's integrity of artistic vision.

Ahhh yeah. I went back through a few of the saves and you are right. I normally poke around in the variables and somehow missed seeing that one set differently. The ones where I didn't 'intervene' with John were set to True, and the ones where I did intervene they were set to True. I have two different saves sets for each character, where they: 1) intervene; and 2) don't intervene, just to see how the story diverges.
