the update did tease the idea of how Alexis would pick Erynn for a threesome if that becomes a reality that could be a step in the right direction but not sure if that relationship would happen. I would love it to however.
If anything does come of this, I fully expect it will be a (probably quite awkward) one-off. Certainly not anything ongoing as a throuple relationship.
Definitely start a new PT bc this update (13) was otherwise broken on several of my PT's. This update was pretty bad in general in terms of the overall plot. Nyx is creating a whole lot of unnecessary work for himself to drag the story out longer. A whole lot of this updates work specifically went into things that should never have been put in.
Layla's path had some good progression. Val's path is completely broken if you don't restart her PT, but is otherwise really good. The end of this update though... Ethan going after Val just doesn't work. As a one off, it was easy to justify going after Erynn. Val specifically would be the worst person for him to try harm followed closely by Layla/Alexis. Elena is the only one in the MC's circle at school he could directly go after and not get caught.
Mira especially should not have been introduced, which means the entire trip to see Nathan should have been excluded. She fills the exact same role as Cara and Nikki, which was something that wasn't necessary to the story to begin with. It worked bc of the ties to the MC's father, but Mira doesn't have that going for her.
Lakeyn returning in this way was also just way too extra. Most of the people the MC can sleep with all belong to the same family bc of this, which is way too incestuous for a non-incest story. To make it worse, like the Mira situation, Lakeyn's existence here is simply replaying earlier events once again through another character. This just replays the whole Layla/Alexis scene at the pizzeria again just with Alexis and Lakeyn.
The Mira and Lakeyn issues are really big stumbles which took up waaaay too much of the time spent on this update and didn't just drag this update down, but drug the entire game down. You never want to tell anyone, "Hey, this massive section of the work you did has to be redone," yet I think it's necessary here bc neither characters roles in this update should have survived the rough draft. Your interactions with a story should never become a circular conversation, but that's where we are now with recycling plot beats.
I find most of this to be inaccurate for my playthrough. I've not completed them all yet, but I have done most of my saves now and not had to restart a single one. I just have Nikki and Erynn left, and I'm halfway through Valeria, which (like the others) has run flawlessly from my previous save.
Nyx is a she, not a he, and I don't see that she's caused herself any extra work that wouldn't normally be caused. Any game like this is going to keep growning because of the choices you can make. It's not a problem here, IMO.
The story is called Intertwined for a reason. The relationships the MC can have are all intertwined with each other. Once you get that aspect of it, of course Lakeyn is part of Alexis and Layla's family. It almost makes less sense that she wouldn't be, in game terms.
It's only opinions, but mine is definitely not the same as yours here. I don't feel the Miri or Lakeyn sections dragged the game down in the slightest. The Miri bit was maybe unexpected and maybe a bit weird, but there's nothing new with bringing in new characters and potentially new LIs, if that's going to be more than a one-off.
As for general issues, outside of a handful of typos and one or two missing renders, the only issue I have found in any of my playthroughs is the one that's already been spoken about - on a non-Alexis save, the meeting with Lakeyn at the pizzeria is cold, and MC walks off as if there is bad blood between him and Alexis, even though scenes before and after don't reflect this. It seems like a bad trigger is used, perhaps, so it shows the scene where you've broken up with Alexis, even if you never got together with her.
Now if I recall correctly (and it was admittedly a very long time ago) I didn't want anything to do with her in the past and didn't give a shit if she went on dates, but why are we being shown this shit?
Having no interest in her means having no interest.
Saying I don't care if she goes on dates then showing her getting railed by some twat with even more tattoos than the MC seems like it's just a way for the dev to cater to the NTR crowd without actually having to brand the game with the NTR tramp stamp because "Oh, well you said you don't care so it's not really NTR since you aren't dating her".
You get the option to view or skip that scene, so that's on you, really.
