I'd be hard pressed to see how complete strangers to their family would get invited to the BBQ. It doesn't sound like an open or public event, but more just a bunch of the family friends getting together. I'm not sure how all the girls the MC knows would get an invite. It would be odd to me if MC asked Adrianna and Zo if 8-12 girls he's met could also attend, especially if MC is on Lexi's or Layla's path. If MC is not on Lexi or Layla's path then MC is not at the dinner, so is he even aware of the BBQ yet? I can't recall offhand.It just makes more sense for the BBQ to take place after, you can use whatever happens in the race to add extra spice to the BBQ scene later.
For example does the college chicks(Alexis, Erynn, Iris, maybe Lakeyin too) show up to watch and cheer? Jealousy between this group and the school group(Layla, Val, Elena)? Do the Riverside sisters attend too?
Does Santiago stops to say a few words to Gabi this time?
All these things could add "extra spice" to the BBQ
If the MC caused big issues with Layla and Lexi, will he even be invited to the BBQ? I personally can't see Santi or Adrianna wanting MC there if he intentionally was caught dating both of them, for example.
I would be very surprised if Santi wasn't there, as Zo said he was going to be there if you MC is at the dinner, when on Layla or Lexi's path.

I get what you are saying, but of all the girls they listed, the only two that realistically wouldn't likely get invited are Iris and Val.
Obviously Alexis, Layla and Lakeyn get an invite because they're family. Erynn having grown up with Alexis and being told that Zo misses her, can't see her not being extended an invite. Same goes for Elena being so close to Layla, but she might not show because she's always stuck babysitting.
As for MC getting an invite while not on Lexi/Layla paths, could be something as trivial as Adriana inviting him as a thanks for tutoring Layla in Spanish. I think the BBQ is going to be a forced Santi interaction.

If you never dated Lexxi (cause come on... we all fucked her... ) Laykin is the gateway in!
I presume she doesn't have many friends in that place so once she gets the MC in there she would invite him
if not for anything if at least to prove to her family she is social besides her looks!
So basically even if you have not stuck your dick in her you are automatically invited!
her reasons are easy to explain, to prove she is social and has friends and can make friends whenever she goes
and that her work passion hobby is not useless she will parade the MC tattoos around for her family to see
So the MC will be the "eyecandy" for everyone to inspect her tattoos,
extra points if you did the photo show with Erynn and can claim you are now a model!
so except for 1 path where Lexxi breaks up with you
(and even then... awkward if Laykin invites and the MC goes not knowing!)
the MC is getting in no matter what, even the broke Layla´s heart path!
The part about the girls was about them showing up to watch the race, not the BBQ.
I'm simply thinking that if something happens on the race event that causes a strain between MC and Layla/Alexis we could face some repercussions during the BBQ
And yes the MC only gets invited(at least so far) if he's in a relationship with Layla/Alexis, maybe there will be a later invite as friend of the family.
I could see Erynn(maybe Iris?) and Elena being invited too as friend of the girls, other girls probably not.
Or Santi inviting Gabi because he still wants to make good with her maybe...

Seems like Val is good enough friends with Layla that she could be there, Elena def will.
Erynn probably through Lexi so you won't see Nikki, Cara, Tori, or Iris for any reason there but most of the others would be there. Melissa also knows Adrianna so she might stop byas well

I'm not saying it's infeasible they'll all be there, many of the ones known to their family will likely be there. There's just a lot of different scenarios that have to be accounted for, and I'm curious as to how it'll handle all of them. For example, some of the 'outlier' scenarios:
- If you dumped Layla for Elena, it was left off with Layla more or less ignoring her. Would Elena still be invited, or will enough time have passed that they Layla is willing to patch things up? Having a friend "steal" your boyfriend that you were willing to give up your virginity to is not a small thing. Still not a fan of how you get onto Elena's path.
- If Layla and Alexis are angry at MC for dating both of them and confronted him at the house, would they really have reached the point where they'd tolerate him being there? Their family seems close enough that they'd all be livid over that. I'd almost expect fallout from Adrianna at school too as she doesn't seem like the type of mom who'd let someone break both her daughter's hearts.
On my good/devoted playthroughs, the only times the MC hooked up with Lexi on the plane was on her path. The MC can hook up with Lexi on the plane and still remain friends, if you don't hang around with her at her bar shift, but that's on my many other playthroughs. I have way too many playthroughs....
I don't remember feeling Lakeyn ever needed to justify to her family or anyone that she is social and has friends. Did I miss something somewhere? She's left her old job/town and is moving to a whole new city so it should be expected that she hasn't made a lot of friends yet. If you did hook up with Lakeyn and are on the Lexi or Layla path, I'll be curious to see if it comes out (or slips out) at that BBQ.
I fully know MC will end up being invited as it'll be a pretty important moment in the story. How it's done is still up in the air. All I said is that we don't know yet.
Based on the phone conversation you overhear at the track on race day, it doesn't seem like Santi is too interested in making good with her. If on her path, it's pretty much unofficially confirmed that they are on the outs.

I don't think Layla will hold a grudge against Elena. It's the cliché "you can't help who you fall in love with" and she'll end up happy her friend found someone and her virginity left intact.
I imagine it will be handled in a similar manner as being caught spying on the girls in the showers at training camp, a quick apology and it's forgotten by the next frame. As for the family feeling some way about MC, Adriana doesn't learn about either of them dating MC until much later in their respective paths. They seem to shield their romance from their parents and I'm not even sure the breakup happens when they're that deep in their feelings.
I'm playing through Layla's path again right now, I'm at the hot tub party (episode 11) and there has been one mention of them being in a relationship... and it was the scout at the track event asking if he could talk to Layla's boyfriend.
You know Nyx loves her awkward situations, which is why i think it can happenhaha that will be fucking awkward when you are still actively fucking her
The feeling i get is that they've broken up after the training camp, which means it's been a week, maybe he still wants to "fix things".
And Gabi could go without knowing the MC will be there
Obviously i don't think it makes a lot of sense for him to get invited if he's an enemy of the girls.
If you are in a relationship you got invited already, no relationship you must at least be friend of the girls to have a shot at an invitation.
Erynn i can see getting invited by Alexis, and Elena by Layla.
Any other girls from the previous post were reffering to the race event not the BBQ.
Girls that aren't from the track team might want to watch their friend/boyfriend race(Erynn, Alexis, Lakeyin, Iris) and show some support.
Layla, Val and Elena are pretty much guaranteed to be there.
As for Gabi, they've only been broken up for a week, maybe he still wants to talk... i don't think Gabi gets back with him, but Santi might still have hope.

I think it'll depend on how much time has passed in-game between her being dumped and the BBQ. The last time the MC talks to her, she still looks really hurt so it's hard to guess if she'll just shrug it off and move on.
I'd be very surprised if they don't get over it and become friends again. Layla was cut pretty deep being dumped like that, and she doesn't seem like the person to quickly get over the pain it cause her.
Being caught spying on the girls in the shower, in my mind, is very different than actively dating both sisters. If a simple apology is all it takes for it to be water under the proverbial bridge, I'm going to be very disappointed.
Now I've never actually chosen to spy on them in the shower, because all you really get out of it is Zach points and they are entirely useless up to this point in the game.
That was always one thing I never liked about Layla's path. I loved that the natural progression from stranger, to friends, to a best friend. But the "automatic" and silent change from Best Friend to dating just rubbed me wrong. At the very least, there should have been a conversation that the MC could bring up to start dating or skip to stay best friends. As it stands now, there is no agency, it just automagically happens silently if you don't keep her relationship points under the magical threshold at a specific scene.

On that i agree, Layla(Elena scenario) is not ready to be in the same room as the MC right now.
And there's only one week to the BBQ.
Maybe something big will happen(Lucas event maybe?) that will reunite them, but right now they are very far from being in a good place.
I haven't been keeping up with a save where you lie to both of them(i know the scene but i pretty much scrapped that savefile, written over it), but i imagine that's also a hard one.
Same thing i said before, it will require something big to happen, like saving Layla from her stalker, to get "friend of the family" status again.
