Finished the last Alexis scene for this update, also finished the first of the 2 scenes for Layla. Only 2 scenes left to do. Both scenes will be very short and I expect to finish all scenes/renders this week. I might have to redo a few, but I know more once I start with the post-render work. There are a few scenes I want to "redo" or rather improve but I'll leave that for another time.

Once all renders are done, I start with the post-render process. Meaning fixing some inconsistencies like clothes that are clipping into the skin, lighting,...

The total renders (Everything included) is over 7000. So, I don't know how long that will take me.
At the same time, I will start coding everything, there's a lot of script and with all the different paths, it will also take some time. Adding some sound files, main menu song,...

Then there's the spelling check, also correcting some mistakes in previous episodes. And testing all the routes, of course. Still quite some stuff to do.

About the remake of episode 3. I'm not completely done yet with that and I'm not sure if I'm able to finish before I'm done with episode 13. Episode 3 consists of 2 days, so I'll probably only add the first day since that one is finished. The second day will be for the next update.

Once I have a better idea of how long it will take to finish everything, I'll give an ETA. The only thing I'll say is it will be released before GTA 6!

Over 7k renders! Damn Nyx has been working hard on this. As much as I would love to see this release next month, I wouldn't blame her if she decides to take a break over Christmas and release it in the new year.

depends how much post work needs to be done on the renders. I'd imagine if they mostly came out well then we will have it this year. It's still a lot of images to sort through, so could go either way. I wouldn't mind an update around the holidays.

So around 2600 renders per ep, not far from my guess of 2500 render average and pushes her closer to the numbers of the fulltime devs with better rigs.

I am TERRIFIED the remake of Ch3 means the saves will no longer work.

It takes almost 30 mins to ctrl-skip the game start to finish for a single route, and it's quite easy to screw a route with a single wrong choice. And I just did it for the last update

Sounds like theres not much layla next update

Layla is gonna have one scene for when you are on her path and a (presumably shorter)scene for when you are fucking asshole and breaks her heart(also known as Elena path), obviously you won't be able to see both scenes with the same save.

Since Nyx said the scene she still needs to render is fairly short i suspect it's the one from heartless jackass/Elena path, the proper Layla scene is already complete (not counting retouches).

This episode will have 3 days.
Day 1 dedicated to either Erynn or Val.
Day 2 Cara/Nikki (or "bro day" with Nathan if you have neither).
Day 3 Alexis, Layla and a little bit more Erynn.

It's not gonna be super Layla heavy, but she's getting something, first time you see her after "cherry picking" so it should be nice.

7k renders sounds like a lot but doesn't nyx do animations differently than other devs, so I think animations are counted in those 7k renders. So people shouldn't expect a super long update of actually 7k renders if this is the case and I remembered right.

even still I don't think animations will be alot , this isn't a fuck fest game so while there will be probably a decent amount of animations and sex across all paths I don't think it will take to much away from that 7k total.

nah, animations are actually pretty meh in this one, vast majority of those 7k are still renders. But there is a lot of branching, so if you don't play certain paths or you messed up somewhere, you can easily miss out on half of them or more. Always been like that. Need several saves to see them all.

When i get the update i'll probably pickup my main save and a few others... but the fact that she keeps adding to early portions of the game kinda gives incentive to go back and redo everything.

Maybe a different strategy is in order... something like leaving a save at the moment the game switches from remade stuff to old stuff, at least until all old gets remade.

nah, animations are actually pretty meh in this one, vast majority of those 7k are still renders. I can't even pretend to be mad at the thought of having to play through this game again a bunch of times. Especially like you said, the possibility of seeing an updated scene or even catching something I may have missed the first time on that path.

yeah I was planning replaying the game first as it's been awhile but with the cliffhanger and the beach Erynn date don't think I can wait. im probably gonna redo my solo paths for my favorites in the upcoming weeks after playing my favorite paths in the update ( Erynn and Alexis mainly might check out Elena and Nikki as well), then i'll do a replay cause been awhile since ive replayed the game. Then finish of by doing the paths im not all that invested in very slowly . I'm not gonna worry about redoing my saves to see new content that has been reworked in early chapters until we get more of it , i'll see it when I see it.

agh I can't do replays any time soon. Just before the saves got fucked last time I organized every route I wanted, so goodbye to those Then I did the whole thing again. That's like 20+ playthroughs. Honestly if she did it again and had to start all over I don't think I'd have it in me.

yeah that's why im sticking to solo paths mostly lol as it's just a quick 10-15 min to ctrl skip through. I might check out more complicated paths slowly throughout the year or so. As I need to redo my saves. but I got no issue having to redo solo paths

you are not missing anything important, all they add are visual updates to old chapters. New environments, better lighting, that sort of thing. They improve a lot on the old renders and are nice to look at, but for me not worth yet another playthrough. Story-wise you can keep going and won't miss anything, otherwise it would again mess up the the saves if she introduced new variables. I think the main one will be the age retcon, I'll probably start a new game just to see how she digs herself out of that corner Or just look up the changes in the script if I'm lazy
