Did your path with Nikki have any mistakes?
I did play a solo Nikki path but I only tested out the Mira sex scene on the Cara path and on one where you just visit Nathan and none of the sisters. but didn't see any mistakes
I personally think if it isn't a simple solution and Val got away. I think Erynn is going to be called in for "work" and see Val with Ethan and know something is wrong. As if I recall Erynn did meet her briefly. So I think she might call the MC if this happens.

. Sorry I really don't like him but, He has a fondness for Valerie and Erynn when he finds out what Ethan is doing or plans to do he is going to do something. What he will do is the question.

not true for Val saving MC, she helped me on every route I have. The criteria for the John version, and I'm trying to remember here so I could be wrong (coz I never even knew there was a John variant until I read about it here) is that you fucked up your relationship with Layla iirc. Then Val won't be friends with you either and get the John rescue. Again, could be wrong, it's been a while since I read about it.

nope just played vals route the other day, i did the nuke option to end the layla and alexis paths. you just need to have a high val relationship. you don't have to be on her path, just max her pointson a friendzone path and she'll still come help.
hmm then probably a points criteria, I usually have good number of points with her even if just being friends, so I never got the John version

depends, he seems to be all about blackmail and manipulation. He may have something on her or her mother to leverage her. Will just have to see what nyx has planned when she gets to it.

He is a really small fish. The blackmail plot is also quite convoluted and childish. If it weren't for the diminished IQ in some characters, then it wouldn't be hard to deal with. Returning the cellphone to Ethan was so stupid; it made me cringe.
eh I think Returning the cellphone was fine. He couldn't unlock it why take the risk of getting some assault charges by not returning the phone, if the phone is no use the MC without someone that knows how to by pass the lock. Sure Ethan could be lying and press charges anyways but why take the risk when it's useless to the MC imo. I think taking the phone was the dumb move to begin with.
Solo runs are your best best to unlock all content for a character. Nyx messes with combination runs on purpose. Even then there are characters like Elena that will want you to be on Layla's route to even get scenes with. Then there are situations like Layla's hot tub party where you have to choose between Layla solo and the Layla/Elena scene (if you're also interested in Elena). The Riverside sisters (Nikki/Cara) don't seem to block most content, but there is a scene for Emily in the gallery that requires you to date one of them and then break up with them when they come to visit.
