It's true that I would play my Layla save before my Layla–Elena save, but I would likely play my Elena save before it too (although there isn't the content there yet to make it mean anything). that's why I mostly stick to solo saves and only a few mixed saved not gonna go to crazy with all the saves I have planned until later. Not really that bad to redo those since I can just ctrl skip through 1 or 2 saves every few days and do it slowly , not like I need to do it right away.
