Some shower thoughts on the current cliffhanger:
I understand that suing Ethan for blackmail would have been risky, if Erynn couldn't afford a better lawyer than him and wanted to keep her modeling gig. But proving assault seems to be as easy as calling the police to the scene of the dumpstering and then going to the hospital to collect all the evidence Erynn could ever need. So, what was Ethan's plan here exactly? Did he want to get rid of Erynn for good? Did he send an assassin, so there'd be no witnesses, while he'd have an alibi?
This would be an unusually dark turn for the game imo. Are we supposed to believe that Ethan joined an actual crime syndicate just because he got rejected by Erynn as a kid? On the one hand this game has been entirely about highschool relationship drama, so turning it into a thriller would come a little out of left field (well I guess I've seen weirder animes). On the other hand it's pretty clear that Nyx is trying to turn up the (non-sexual) heat.
For example, so far the game has been playing nice with the anti-ntr crowd: The PC has no competition and he doesn't just get the girl, he gets to choose between multiple girls. It also wasn't clear, if Erynn's sex video was actually real. This changed, when the PC got forced to watch it.
I don't think Erynn is dead, because, for being the catalyst of the story, she has surprisingly little stage time, which will probably change very soon. But this just brings me back to the question "what was Ethan's plan here?" We know Nxy isn't above ridiculous characters (Zach), so Ethan might just be too retarded to even have a plan. Maybe this is less about Ethan's and more about Erynn's character arc. With Nyx being a woman herself, she might've taken a page from romance novels for women. A common trope in those is to have the female lead be alleged "damaged goods", but still get to live happily ever after.
If this wasn't a porn game in need for a variety of sex scenes, then Erynn would obviously be the woman the PC ends up with. I wonder how many players would still choose her, if she'd be "damaged goods" now.
