I agree with this. Having finally worked out how to get some of the scenes in the latest update (thanks to some helpful people on here), I have to say I'm getting more and more frustrated with the way the game locks you out of content with characters you've been pursuing, based on decisions that don't have anything at all to do with those characters. The example I'll use is Tori. Her beach scene is locked to one of Alexis' paths, so you just miss out with her completely this update if you're not either with Alexis or on the "secret path". That feels like a mistake. I'm quite open to finding that there are scenes I've missed because I needed to make a different choice, but the choice should at least have some internal logic to it.

You need to be in a relationship with Lexi (or be on the secret Lexi path) and have had Tori's scene after winning the track race. I've now tested both options. It's a great scene too if you like Tori!

Agree with you about the positive notes, there's still a lot to like about the game.

Here's what I don't get, why doesn't Erynn invite you to the beach if you're pursuing her? Like, wtf, I have an Erynn/Val/Cara path, but I'm missing all the stuff on the beach... seems like an oversight, tbh...

On a save i have Erynn and Layla, cut all ties to Alexis, there's no beach scene... it feels weird, like there's a time skip.
Feels stupid to lose time with Erynn(and Iris) because you aren't interested in Alexis.

so basically we are not seeing the game how the DEV really wanted.. because from what i gathered here... she is doing that with Val because people asked in patreon....so basicaly she is adapting her story and her game to make these people "happy"

Is it confirmed that she adapts her story to make people happy or is it the usual annoyed approach we can see at all games here when an update doesn't have the content someon wished for? If you ask me, the storylines are straight. Should the story skip the photoshoot and the hut tub party although they were already anounced in earlier episodes? Same goes with the beach thingy. Alexis planned a beach date long before and they talked about it to do it while spring break. Iris was just faster by asking Alexis to go with her and Erynn. Iris wants her date with Erynn, so she don't wasted any time. That's how the character Iris is in the whole game.

It's not the devs fault that you wished another content. One can't make everyone happy. There're some things I don't like either but if I look at the plots from start til the end I can't see there's any adapting to please the audience. Especially considering that the audience changes a lot. New pledgers come, old pledgers go, so you can't say the wish of the audience from today is what the audience want when the next update is coming out.

Uh... Because you're friends with 2 of those girls at least, and Erynn is kinda ready to date you so it would make sense for her to invite you anyways... also, even if you're not on a romantic path with her, and she's not trying to hook you up with Alexis, you're still her friend and you still did her a solid with the photoshoot and all that, so again, there's no real reason to skip that MASSIVE chunk of content... doesn't make sense... I mean, you still go to the photoshoot on almost any path, no? What's so different about the beach?

I get where you are coming from. Erryn is pretty fun with the MC after the initial Ethan drama (which pissed me off at the time).
She is on her redemption arc now as Nyx probably realised her drama had backfired and made the character pretty unpopular.
Funny enough I went total Alexis path the first few updates and wasn't interested in Erryn due to how Nyx was doing her path, then eventually I lost interest in Alexis, something about her character just made me lose interest. Now I'm kind of going for Erryn lmao. I'm just a picky fucker

The way Erynn was innitially portrayed made her easy to hate, her introduction is that she ignored us in the past, she's emotionally codependent, overly jealous, possessive with no right to be so...
No wonder she gets the highest number of drive by haters here, just people randomly dropping by and saying Erynn sucks, nothing else to add.

It requires that you push through all this shit, to learn that she's a sweet girl that has been hurt and is suffering... then she becomes much better... but by then people already formed their opinions and aren't really paying attention anymore.

Your logic is sound, just feels like Iris and Erynn would both want the MC there, even if he is a penis person... Alexis might not but if the break up was clean what right does she have to block? She got over her fight with Erynn...
Anyhow, it would be better to have extra Erynn content on a Erynn path run.

Anyhoo... Re: the beach thing... honestly, it feels like laziness... there should be more variants of the beach scene:

One where you're romantic with Erynn and that creates some waves with Iris.

Also one where you either broke up early with Alexis and she's kinda upset & uncomfortable.

One if you cancelled Alexis date and she's angry... that would be a better jump-off point for her than that really stupid fight over the backwards cap thing.

And I'm probably missing more permutations... that's a scene that can play out in many different ways depending on your choices... yet it seems that it's either A or B or fuck off the game ends abruptly... =/

I don't know why people are so upset about the Val stuff and saying it's out of character for her. It's really not. She's clearly comfortable around guys and she's been that way since she showed up.

At this point of the story, MC is flirting with Val but they are not exclusive. Zach and Daryl like her too but they are making every mistake. The only one that Val is flirting back with - and making out with - is MC. As for her gym partner, I got zero romance vibes from that situation. Val and gym guy seem like good friends but nothing more.

As for the beach scene with Daryl, some people are saying that this scene happens no matter what, but I don't think so. I think her decision is influence by whether MC is single or not. If you're on a Val exclusive playthrough, the beach scene with Daryl is never shown, so we don't know if she actually went or not. She only goes to the beach for certain on the condition that MC is already actively dating another girl while fooling around with Val on the side (something that Val would have been full aware of prior to the "Maybe" scene)

And even if she did go to the beach with Daryl behind the scenes, the events would have certainly been different seeing as how a lot of what Daryl does in that scene is in reaction to what he sees going on with the MC.

To be friend with someone doesn't mean you've to have them all around. Iris invited Erynn for reasons and took Alexis with them as a leaf. If you're with Alexis Iris says her she could invite MC but she didn't said that to Erynn because she knew about their history. Iris wants Erynn for herself.

She didn't blocked anything. Iris does. She knows Erynn is MC's long time crush and could be a competitor. Why take the risk? Also in case Iris didn't, Erynn should have enough sensitiveness not to invite the ex of a fresh ended relationship.

Well, I see I'm not alone in that there are more strange things in this update. Sorry for not reading all the previous comments, but let me tell you what is bothering me. Of course, like many others, I had many previous saves from routes. Both solo (everyone else is excluded) and mixed trips. We didn't get any updates on Nikki's route, which is strange to me, since the content was quite large with her until now. In addition, it is also possible that she is pregnant... (I hope it's not just me, but I didn't see a new picture in the gallery either) Alex missed the morning run on route scene, which is strange because I got it on the Alex/Nikki road. Hmm? Although Cara is cute, there was an exciting video chat with her, but not with Nikki? I think we can be satisfied with Eryn if we are on her path - in fact, I think she is also available on a mixed path (there was physical contact, although we still have to wait for full sex). Valeria is a mystery to me. Now they kiss several times and yet he just plays with MC. It's interesting that I only got scenes with him when I'm in some kind of relationship with Alex. Gabi is included in this update, but I only saw it briefly and only fleetingly in a quick mixed playthrough. And let's not leave out Iris because even she is a "distraction" when we're on Alex's route...Melissa is still beautiful, but she's just a dream I think...I'll leave Layla and Elena for the end...I'll have a playthrough with them today, and I hope I'm not more confused than I already am...
Overall, we got a lot of great content, with a lot of weird scenes or combinations of them... It's still one of my favorite games.

there is some content with Elena, you can fool around with both Layla and her in the hot tub if you want to, and you can essentially dump Layla for her the next day, but the consequences are unknown

You don't know who blocked or not, you are making shit up, stop talking like a positive affirmation...

Iris wasn't aware of long time crushes until, ironically, the beach scene(where she can notice something special), she only found out that the MC and Erynn know each other few days ago, seems like he never mentioned Erynn to her back in Alvarado... and in the scenes before the beach the words used suggested just friendship.
Btw upon learning this Iris takes super well this new "competition", she's very honest and friendly about it, pretty much backs away, definitely doesn't wanna fight with you over Erynn.

And if it's because of "recent-ex", it doesn't work with 2 conditions:
A-Erynn needs to be aware, there are many scenarios where you banged Alexis a couple of times, stopped and Erynn is totally oblivious to that...
B-A relationship needs to have existed in the first place, Alexis is skippable afterall.

If in these scenes, in the new renderings, there isn't some defense and reaction, you'll all be making the same mistake twice. The mc is a fucking athlete, it doesn't suit him to be humiliated by some skinny assholes. It makes him look weak and like he won't be able to protect any girl in the future. But if you have this fetish for humiliation, at least put an option for those who want to defend themselves.

I'm not seeing any char redemption arc for Val after how she behaved in this update. I guess the character is ruined forever.
