I am not 100% sure the MC is the protagonist, I mean if you ask Ethan, Darryl or Emanuel they would consider him the antagonist and Zach depends on the day what he believes. Not to mention why if this is really Santiago's story in some weird mockery of the Star Wars tale I mean if we are doing theories lets go batshit lol.

According to the Nyx, Santiago is the MC in his harem game and this game is just a sequel to that.

About Erynn tho (ye I'm late, sue me)... I see a lot of people saying she has an "obsession" with MC or a stupid crush or whatever, but IMO you guys are forgetting one thing: It's not so much a crush as it is the fact that they were childhood best buddies (and neighbors).

Now, granted, there are some poorly written sections in the game, but overall it was clear to me that Erynn is a lonely chick who's had a lot of issues with men, and she sees the MC's return more as her best buddy coming back, hence why she struggles with romantic feelings towards him once she sees he became hot and all that.

So basically: MC is the one who has had a crush on her forever, Erynn did like him, but probably not at "crush" level, she is just happy that her childhood friend is back because she doesn't seem to have any male friends (and not many female friends for that matter) and has been struggling with a lot of shit. But things start getting complicated if the MC tries to romance her... You'll notice that she only behaves as BFF if you don't romance her, and she still wakes you up and comes into your room all the frickin time because she misses her BFF, not because she wants the D.

She does seem to desperately want to go back to a "simpler" time in her life when they were kids tho, she really acts in a very childish manner towards the MC, but that's very much in line with what I'm saying.

So in short, I don't think Erynn's badly written, or at least to the extent some of you claim, and I think her character makes enough sense... I'm not saying it's perfect or anything, but it's good enough that I got the gist of what's going on with her.

First of all you'll never be late to the Erynn party because it's constant. It's die down a little bit then reflame again, so no suing on process.

She does not have any friends beside Alexis, Ethan made sure of that, starting from MC. Tried to the same for Alexis but Alexis' loyalty beat the Ethan's games, though Erynn still has these lingering feeling about it.

She sees MC as her only hope from getting rid of Ethan's blackmail and if you as a player don't help her she just leaves MC. Neither bff thing nor the lack of d keeps her there.

I mostly agree with you. While I think part of her crush is a tad silly cause she didn't know if the MC changed and became another Ethan in those 5 years. I thought she should of gotten to know him a bit again, before crushing hard for him . But I did think her crush does make sense. Like I mentioned in my post . I don't think her crush is a rational one at all. But I do think there is 2 layers to her crush.

First like you mentioned she was childhood friends and neighbors. Second Do to all the trauma she has gone through with Ethan, the blackmail , losing all her friends, the escorting take your pick. Second I believe she sees the MC as the last good thing she had in her life. Since she started to lose all her friends but Alexis because of her bad decision to believe Ethan's manipulation in thinking he has changed. As in the flashback I never got the impression so saw the MC as more than friends so it would have to be a irrational crush in my eyes unless we learn more later.

That part kept vague on purpose by the dev, when Ethan ask do you see him like that, she answers none of your business. You can say she has a crush on MC but hides it or she just sees him as a friend and not want to give an answer to Ethan.

Btw, I think if she was dating Ethan story would have make much more sense. I would understand why she was so open to Ethan's manipulations, why she did not just leave Ethan after she saw him bullying MC, why she did not leave him after he caused her bff left town, why she stayed with him after he banished all of her friends, why she was angry at Alexis for sleeping with Ethan(make no fucking sense as it is, what if Alexis slept with Ethan you are just a friend to both of them after all), why she compared MC sleeping with Alexis to Ethan sleeping with Alexis, having a blackmail material(he would have much more material so she can't just brush it off it's not me explanation and it would have been not secret record, so her fear of not being able to become a teacher would make much more sense) etc. Maybe Nyx chickened out writing Erynn dated main antagonist, so went sideways for it.

From what I remember though, to me it seems the opposite... I mean, she clearly finds MC hot, but she doesn't seem to see him in a romantic way, at least at first, and she's actually struggling with her feelings, hence why she's so hesitant to move forward, she sees him as a friend first.

Again, I might be misremembering something, but I didn't interpret her actions as her having a massive irrational cursh on the MC at all...

Then he sees the photos, she still has Ethan's photos in her place and saw Erynn went to prom with Ethan etc. When he asked about prom she just brush it off with using gaslighting 101. Then suddenly Ethan showed up at the door calling Erynn babe etc. At this point he is suspicious about Erynn dating Ethan, she again brush it off with calling it only business. Then Erynn ditches MC for going on a date with Ethan, MC caught them red-handed while handholding. At this point, he is sure Erynn and Ethan are dating. When he saw Ethan and Erynn fighting it's a couple fighting in a back alley. Why should he put himself in danger at this point? Erynn is no longer a friend to him, she kicked him out at his worst without an explanation and she is dating his mortal enemy. There was no reason for him to intervene.

We are aware some of these are not true and some others forced on her by Ethan but we only know these from others' POV, MC does not know any of these. It's not his business so he just walks away, nothing evil about it. It's not a dick move either, MC is not a superhero who helps damsel in distress. Even thinking she got what she deserves is not completely out of ordinary because she is dating Ethan.

She's like entirely 2 different people depending on whether you talk to her on the plane or if you do the Alexis secret path... and speaking of irrational crushes: Alexis

I get that Nyx probably wanted a "quick" LI to start off the game, but damn, when you compare her to the Alexis in the secret path, she's legit two different people, it's kinda jarring ngl... So when people complain about Erynn I'm like... really??

You don't, I won't either but I'd understand if someone does. Dude is dangerous there is a high risk getting your ass handed to you, there might be bodyguards or his friends nearby, she could turn and blame you for attacking her boyfriend etc. etc. So it really is a reasonable thing to do in a certain path. Why would MC risk himself?

Iirc, Alexis was not an LI then Nyx changed the direction of her. Therefore your 2 entire different people. Also I think probably best word to describe Alexis, irrational.

(I say that as a huge Erynn fan btw)...but as Def said, if you don't help her, you never see her again....she literally disappears out of your life (and the story) because you are no longer of use to her and/or helping her...

She was originally supposed to be a one-shot and forget character....then she was made into a lot more. There's reason for it, because she has literally been shoe-horned into a story that originally she wasn't in. Just like Nikki.

When you put it that way from the MC's pov it makes a bit more sense why he might walk away and ignore her, as it does seem to be in line with his personality and his feeling or whatever. But at the same time it's hard to say there is no reason to intervene for if it's someone you know personally. Because at worst she hurt and didn't respect the MC's feeling. But you are right he doesn't know if he has a gun or whatever but he could intervene a number of different ways. Call the police, Her mother, while keeping an eye out on what's going on from around the corner.

Walking past Erynn while she is getting beaten up is the one option I've never chosen, whether I'm on her path or not, it's an option that just doesn't sit right for me at all.
