On another play through, I noticed Val's eye and facial expressions show that she's hiding something regarding the reason why she quit pole vaulting. The question and exchange is making her uncomfortable.

Could it be connected to our theory LSC82 that Val's possible origin story as the female version of the MC is that she got her heart broken by a guy? And it was a very bad heartbreak.

I think it was a fellow pole vaulter. Could this be the guy she was sending her sexy selfies too that the MC sees on her phone?

(I don't think it was just athlete burnout or she wasn't good enough at pole vault - hence qualifying for nationals. There seems to be a personal reason here for her to decide to switch sports.)

Well I think that he is their father and he and Adrianna are together, but all of that could be true but they never actually got married. You can put either parents name on a childs birth certificate. This scene makes me sure that they are a couple and he is their father.

honestly im running under the assumption even if she made such a report it wouldn't matter because of Ethans father. The way he is described to me sounds like someone that has connections and probably bough off the police. Tho I have no proof of that just a wild guess on my part.

OT I wonder if Zane is an accessory to Ethan. Strange how Ethan got that tape. His absence from that photo shoot due to a broken nose seems strangely like someone who has a gambling problem. I realize Im putting too much into this with that theory, but something to consider

i'm not really sure how tapes like that are released but I assume they be handed to the cops so as long it isn't given to a dirty one I think you be correct. My assumption is it could be given to a dirty one and never released. Plus Ethan is the one that has it

That depends on your choice when John is in the club, if you help Erynn when she is at the backentrance, then no you got his phone, if you run by the plan then yes Ethan is still in possesion of the tape.

Yeah, Erynn goes to justice accusing Ethan of blackmail through a sexually explicit taping of her and Zane.
Let's say he hides this thing somewhere and Erynn loses the case... she probably still gets a contract release from the company or at least a new agent.

And if the sextape is ever released Ethan just incriminated himself and is liable in a civil suit, screw teaching the girl would be a millionaire.

Yeah if they were smart him and Erynn would watch it at least once just to see if there is something besides Erynn getting plowed they can notice that would be useful to them. Even if it makes them both uncomfortable and Erynn really emotional and brings back bad memories. Or at the very least ask Erynn if he can view it for this reason.

He did play us the recording from his phone, so at least there's a copy of it accessible by phone.

These days the first thing a phone demands for utilization is a login, if Ethan's login becomes invalidated(and reporting a stolen phone to your phone service provider is only natural), only a hacker will be able to access internal files of this phone.
It would be quite lucky to have the video in a memory card or the phone's HD.

It's been a while, but I thought Erynn said at some point that Ethan's father was nothing like Ethan and quite nice. I remember thinking if they went straight to him, he might be able to help.

But maybe that comment never happened and its just something I imagined.

I don't remember he is mentioned nice but I think they said he would not allow Ethan's shenanigans if he was aware but Iris' father said they can't be sure. Been a while for me too so I am not sure.

Yeah I recall something like that been awhile and I could be wrong. But because of that it I made the unwarranted assumption that he has connections and probably bought of the cops or other illegal dealing. That he would put his business and Ethan first. At least that's how it came across to me id have to replay that part to see if I was just miss remembering and made a bad assumption.

I remember that too, i think it's the one that happens in her bedroom after the whole "search" for her, dead chick in a alley...

She believes Ethan's dad doesn't know and wouldn't be happy with what his son is doing, but... is she right on that?

I can dismiss this with Erynn. She's independent and will keep these threats to herself and try to find her own solution, which is what initially happens until she talks to MC. But the more people who know, the more likely at least one person will be able to come up with a solution to end this. Either someone tells Ethan's dad that his dumbass son is about to ruin his company by turning the models into escorts, or someone goes directly to Ethan and ends his blackmail by threatening his dumbass with consequences.
I'll sum it up to story and logistics for the next two updates, but if we're still doing this after that, then questions must be asked.

It looks like his personality wasn't brought up. All Erynn said is that he wasn't aware of the escort stuff and he wouldn't risk his business for his son's shenanigans, and it would cause a huge scandal for the company if it came out. From what I can see, all that's ever mentioned of him otherwise is that he's the CEO and he would recognise Erynn because he was the one who first picked her out.
