I don't think that's accurate either... it was just an innocent thing, didn't mean too much for either of them at the time. Now that they are together it's a fond memory, but at the time it wasn't really anything. And I don't think Lexi did dig him before meeting on the plane, she didn't even remember him until he mentioned Erynn.

Yeah, Erynn's fawning over how great he was during the absence, coupled with her witnessing MC gifting Erynn a flower, which nobody had done or has done for her, clearly influenced Lexi's opinion.

Once she realised who he was on the plane, that the great guy who "stole" her first kiss was seated right next to her, the stars aligned and fate was telling her something.

Im going to get controversial and say I don't even think Erynn was romantically into MC at that point, she wasn't going to humiliate him, but I don't think she was dreaming about his being her boyfriend either. The past is just romanticized because MC moved away for a while and recently returned.

yeah I think Erynn just saw him as a good friend but also someone that was too young to think about seriously. It was only after he was gone and how shit Ethan was to her that she started to miss him more than normal and fall for him.

Yup, it's "cute" now that the story came full circle, but they felt nothing for each other at the time.

And yeah, Erynn was very surprised by the declaration... she had no such thoughts regarding him, to her he was just the little boy next door.

I'll even say that from the perspective of an Erynn romance the 5 year break was a positive, for her to stop seeing him as the little boy next door and more like a man.
And the fact that he wanted her all those years ago, there's always that "does he still feel like that?" Question in the air.

Which is only fair and realistic. There arent a lot of 15 or 16 yo girls who fall in love with guys who are 3+ years younger lol, the maturity levels are entirely different at this age but it is still a fun setup for their relationship nowadays with both Erynn and Lexi imo.

Which is only fair and realistic. There arent a lot of 15 or 16 yo girls who fall in love with guys who are 3+ years younger lol, the maturity levels are entirely different at this age but it is still a fun setup for their relationship nowadays with both Erynn and Lexi imo.

yeah, that ain't happening between a 13 year old guy and 16 year old girl, at least it's fucking rare. Sure, cute declaration of love or whatever, but unrealistic. 18 and 21 is a different story. There is still a gap, but it's way smaller.

You're right, it was more of a sibling type love, but as the saying goes "Absence makes the heart grow fonder".

I don't think only Lexi knows how she feels though, Mel probably does and I suspect Ethan too, which is why he's antagonising MC after returning. Erynn never cared about him as much as she did MC, so he starts manipulating Zach to betray his oldest friend.

The 5 year break allows her to see him in a different light now that he's grown up, had they kept being neighbors it may have been harder for her to see him in this fashion.

I think even though she thought of him as a brother, that declaration in the backyard stuck with her(and she probably talked about it with Alexis, before and after the MC coming back into town, so Alexis knows).

But when you are 16, dating a 13 year old or even looking at a 13 year old that way is just a....no. I usually have to say this in defense of Erynn and the MC's "confession" but I think that the same applies to Lexi as she was also 16.

Was actually dating one but to be fair, looked no where near my age.
Being taller then her wasn't just the case, worked out 3x a day.
Not unheard of when two genuinely long for each others company.

Sometimes most unplanned odd things can happen between friends.

I especially liked it when he tried to ask a perverted question to control the flow of the game, and she answered right away. I like the fact that it's their special game.
